Oh, and by the way.
If you intend to play VI, don't play the PS1 version. Load times ruin the damn game. Get the GBA or SNES version by any means necessary - or just wait for the remake.

"no th plot ov FF8 ws written by movie script writers, squre hired them jst for FF8. tht is why FF8 plot is very complex and mature, lots ov ppl jst didnt undrstand it and got angry becaus of tht. Ther are lots ov ways u can intepret plot ov FF8.
I always say FF8 was too ahead ov its time to be liked. It gave u freedom like no othr FF."
1. This is false. VIII was written by Kazushige Nojima, the guy who wrote the other emo Final Fantasies (VII, X, X-2, and XIII). He is no more a movie script writer than I am, unless you count Final Fantasy movies.
2. VIII's plot is downright amateurish. Exhibit alpha and omega: the scene on the Trabia Garden basketball court.
3. XII is the best FF.
I have to say FF9 hooked me more, too.
Nevertheless FF8 is worth any penny and also worth finishing. The story gets weirder the longer you play but I still liked the game.
updated: 14.01.2012
playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles
Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped: the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA
bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

It's not that you haven't seen them, it's that you haven't noticed them because there's no frame of reference. To someone who's used to the lightning quick non-loadtimes of the SNES or GBA versions, it's torture. The game's loading times are horrendous when you consider its relatively high encounter rate.

Oh, I see O_o. I remember that when you encounter enemies there was a "shh, shh, shhhhhh" sound and the screen was divided in like two halves or something like that and you get to the battle screen right after. All that process was like 2 seconds long. If that's a long loading time then the SNES version must be like 0.01 seconds long xD.
Besides, if I didn't notice that then The Xbox Man won't notice them either because Final Fantasy VII and VIII take around the same time to load battles... hmm... now I'm curious... I think I'm going to search some SNES Final Fantasy VI videos on YouTube to see how long the loading times are in that version xD.

Nojima didn't write 13. He did write the other's you listed though. I'm not going to argue anything thing that you said because I always disagree with you so I won't be redundant.
I recommend Lost Odyssey (Made by the creatore of FF) to the Xbox Man. because it's gorgeous looking and on the xbox 360. And I like it more than many of the final fantasy's. But I love 8, more than most games nonetheless.
Also... you could technically buy a cartridge... and then play the rom with an snes emulator for FFVI, FFV or FFIV

I think he might want to wait for the remake, but that could be years away since they need to remake V first.
Get the GBA version of FF6!

1. emo? y are they emo? do u evn knw what emo means
2. no it isnt, it has th most complex plot in th series, u can take different meaning to different evnts. Sum ppl still believe th entire game after disc 1 was a dream, tht is how deep ff8 plot is.
3. ff12 almost killed th series for me, so no.
