I have no desire to play hundreds of hours on any video game. If that floats your boat, good for you. For the vast majority people video games is something they do occaisionally for fun.

I still cant target friendlys, open the menu, change missles, among MANY other things I couldnt do, that I could on the PS3 controller.

All of those options could be done by pointing and clicking, btw. Also, game designers can be more inventive. Why not use the age old ctrl+A type of button use. Press B to fire a missle that gets lauched when you release the button. Then if you press B + A you switch to differnt missles as you press and and when you release it fires. C'mon. There is nothing that the ps3 remake of the dual-shock can do that the Wii-mote cannot.

Ok. I was thinking about this.

How many of you people would be interested in a game that...

You can fly a space fighter ship. (simulator)
You can hire other pilots to do stuff for you. (command)
You can build unlimited number of stations. (empire)
You can hire a unlimited number of pilots to fly your ships to defend your empire. (war)
What do you think the learning curve should be on this game?
You should know how to do everything in a few minutes? 5? 15? 30? I have over 100 hours of gameplay in X2, I have over 50hours of gameplay in X3. There are so many more things I am learning I can do every day.

You say zelda is one of those massive open ended games? No, it felt quite linear to me. It has some stuff to do on the sides.

Metriod prime is graphically massive, but quite small when it comes to gameplay, so is zelda.

A game like Oblivion could never be done on a Wii. Morrowind would be the best the Wii could do. Now you come across another major problem. The Wii has some controller issues when it comes to complexity. 1 joystick, and 8 buttons. (easilly accessed)

The PS3 has 14buttons and 2 joysticks. (I am counting the digital stick as 4 buttons on each controller)

When I am playing X3 I use my PS3 controller. (The joysticks have great sensitivity)  However There are not enough buttons on the controller.

Zoom, Boost, Accelerate, decellerate, shoot, change missle, shoot missle, pitch, yaw, roll, target nearest, target enemy, target friendly, menu, weapon ararry.

That are the most used controls. There are not enough buttons on the PS3 controller to do that. The Wiimote would have 8 buttons, and the analog stick. 2 for acceleration/deceleration. 1 for shoot, 1 for target nearest enemy, 1 for boost, 2 for roll. One for missles.

I still cant target friendlys, open the menu, change missles, among MANY other things I couldnt do, that I could on the PS3 controller.

your completely changing your argument now... you were claiming that Wii gamers don't like complex games, despite the fact that Zelda is currently the highest selling Wii game so far and that it has very complex puzzles. You rather changed your argument to how open-ended a game is, when that was never your point to begin with. I'll be damned if I didn't have a hard time figuring out the stone-statue puzzle in zelda as well as a few others and this isn't because I'm not as smart as a sony gamer as you'd like to suggest, it's because the game is complex and the sales of zelda prove that wii gamers still like "complex" games. You also seem to forget that, just as in zelda, the D-pad on the Wii can be used for weapon change and etc. You also forget that motion controls can very easily replace button commands.

You also seem to suggest that there is a direct correlation between the amount of buttons on a controller and the amount of complexity that conntroller allows for. A game with two buttons could be more complex than a game with 20 buttons, it's all a matter of how it's done and you once again forget that buttons aren't the only things that trigger actions with a Wii remote to begin with. Ever play Wii Sprts? How many buttons do you need? unless your playing bowling the answer is none. Of course this game isn't very compledx but obviously the Wii could allow for the most accurate, complex sports games as well as RTS, RPG, and who knows what else games compared to it's PS3/360 counterparts simply because the controller allows for better control for things like pointing and clicking in RTS/RPG or power calculated precisely by how forceful you do something for sports games, although I'm sure you disagree since it doesn't have as many buttons. The fact that number of buttons even matters to you already suggests your lack of either A) common sense or B) ability to take off your sony blinders and stop being so pessimistic in the case of all things nintendo.

You can target the nearest enemy BEHIND you? that you CANT see? It's space, it's 3D. Not everything is infront of you. Targeting will NOT work with a pointer.

The Wiimote pointer is better than a mouse? I think not. Plug a mouse into your Wii and see what happens. I get a pointer on my PS3.

What else. the control click method. Good idea. That means the PS3 has around 25 functioning buttons... while the Wii is at 15... Still not enough.

Hmm... Doing a edit on a post ***DESTROYS*** the formatting. How annoying.

Also, with the PS3 controller, I can hold it in 1 hand continue to fly, and use my right hand to use my keyboard. The Wii... I have to sit it in my lap, meaning if I am attacked while it is in my lap, I need to put my hand back down, pick it up, get my hand on it properly. The PS3 controller is as simple as putting your hand back on it, as it is being suspended by your other hand.

<quote>360 people know they are the best, they have the best console, and they don't see the point in arguing it. Because they are so much better than anything else. The 360 people buy FPS. And lots of them</quote>

I do agree with your first part, Why argue when you know you have the best console?

but as for saying it only has FPS titles I think you're being abit biased their, FPS titles sell very well on the Xbox but that doesn't mean other titles don't, Look at Mass Effect, one of the most anticipated games of the year and it is a RPG and Forza Motorsport 2 is a racing game.

So you are biased in your opinon

wii_are_better_than_ - Yes you are right, typing with a litteral 2 button controller (no dpad) is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH more complex than typing on a keyboard. I am not talking about how HORRIBLE controls can make it complex. Some games need 10-20 even 30 functions. The Wii does not have that ability. The PS3 does not either, but it is in MUCH better standing.

Also, I am counting the d-pad on the Wiimote as 4 buttons. It has 4 buttons without it, as the buttons below the A button are useless when using it with nun-chuck.

How do you target behind you now? Press a button to change your view and then aim? That can be done with Wiimote. What about my RTS post?

Kwaad stop with your trolling. Its not always good to say what you think specially when you cant back it up. I have heard that argument before its always from ps3/360 fans "Nintendo games is to easy its made for kids" and Wii fans say "Its funnier with the Wiimote you just press buttons all the time.". Both arguments are very flawed *I am to tired to even try to end my post.......*

I was meaning that scarcastic. I was the PS3 for the FPS. I want the 360 for the oddball games it gets.

I'm not a FPS freak, but I perfer the Six-Axis controller MUCH better than the 360's. Why I buy it on the sony console if it's on another console. I used to always buy it for the gamecube because of the WaveBird. But the Wiimote is low on my list of controllers. I like the N64 controller better. (as a simple controller)

The games I want for the 360 are...

Viva, Dead Rising... ... And that's really it. However I am interested in Fable2 and some others coming this year. But adding every 360 game I want together, through to the end of 2007. I have more PS3 games I want. But what games I want isnt what this thread is about. I just dont mention the 360, because it's not directly competeing with the PS3/Wii quite yet... Wii/PS3 are still in their launch. July is when the games begin. That is when you compare the 360 to the PS3/Wii.

Again, speaking for the average person, I have no desire to spend my time learning dozens of button commands.
