Forums - Sales - Yaho list the top game flops of 2010 ... so far

My Top 3 biggest flops 2010.

1. Alan Wake.

2. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (biggest bomb of this generation in the west market).

3. Dark Void.

On a related note Namco Bandai will be the biggest flop of this year (Dead to Rights: Retribution, Clash of the Titans, Ensalved, Splatterhouse or Inversion). Will they go out of business? :P

I'd include Mod Nation Racers in the list.  Having dabbled with all 3 of this Mays racers it is the best and offers something genuinley different with the modding tools, and with the new patch hopefully its biggest flaw (loading times) is reduced.  Deserved to be a million seller.

So sad that No More Heroes is not even there, but the expectations it created were not as huge as the first game.

Alan wake should be doing a lot better. Come on people i've seen it new for under twenty bucks so whats stopping you?

That it's not on PS3 or on PC.

Fair enough, thats an acceptable reason.

Hehe Alan Wake. I hope they release a PC version now.

I say PoP is the worst, can't believe the last one did near a million on X360 and this one has done 150k ...

Blur/split Second was expected atleast for me;..

A kind of racing game like that may be happy to sell one million and then two release around the same time...

It's either that the load times scared people off, or the Kart racing fans have all gone Wii and are happy to stay there. It is a shame, such a fun game.

I guess we have to say AW significantly underperformed. I recall numerous threads pondering whether AW or Heavy Rain would sell best. I even recall replying at one stage saying it was unfair to compare the 2 because Heavy Rain was so niche and AW had much better main stream potential. I'm still really surprised it hasn't reached half of Heavy Rain's sales. I do hope it legs it out to 1 million. My guess is that it has probably made a modest profit, after all 580K sold to consumers is probably >600K shipped to retailers.
