lol no.

And if a game is bad, you'll most likely not finish it anyway so whether the end is good or not matters very little.

No, ending has nothing to do with how good the game is.

If you are playing the game to see the ending, you are doing somethign wrong.

No. Case in point: Red Dead Redemption. Great ending, but the game was buggy and about 90% of what goes on in Mexico is complete filler.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Ending matters no matter how much people may not think so....it's just one aspect however. Ending is just like graphics, story, art direction, uniqueness etc etc. For a game to be GREAT it needs a good combination of those so yes the ending does matter.

Maybe for RPGs which you play for the story...But name me a AAA action game with a good ending.

I'd call it just one more ingredient in a cake: it might help, it might hinder, but it's not enough by itself.

no for an example bioshock had a rubbish ending and that game is considered great

you know when you play a really good game and when you finish it the ending is sort of WTF in a bad way? i like games with good stories, so i like it when the story's conclusion is up to the quality standards of the rest of the story.

so i agree with sessler. we need good endings and good stories.

i really like to watch that webshow, and feedback too =)

It's not AAA, but the endings to Silent Hill II and Shattered Memories both did tremendous things for those games.
