Just curious because when everything seems to be going peachy for everyone the forums seem to die down, but when something negative comes, trolls emerge from under their bridges and shit hits the fan the forums spring to life.

I would miss all the trolls if they disappeared.

I am no troll, I just voice my opinion on something whether people like it or not.

They can be good fun, but in excess it's unbearable.  I think that's why I like the forums here as opposed to IGN.  Has anybody been to IGN lately?  It's fucking awful.

Anyways, I ask this because what many here consider to be "trolls" aren't really trolls. 

Take Kinect for example. If you say negative things about it you have people reporting you for trolling and things go far enough to the point where people bait you into saying something negative because they know at the moment it could have moderation consequences.

You may end up having people not want to stay here since it seems like everything said or posted is expected to be cheerful and positive.

I like when you have two different factions. Those who do not like something and explain why and those that do and explain why. I like having positive articles about a game, console, peripheral, etc... as well as brutally negative articles on those same topics. That is how things work and it's how you get to understand something best and make the most informed decisions.

I don't want everything to end up constantly cheerful and positive. If it does then eveything is fake and boring.

Please "Trolls", don't leave us.

Yes (I would visit the forums as much if there were no trolls). Dissenting views make for interesting reading, but irrational trolls don't, they only make me want to leave the thread they're on.

As long as that person takes the time to back up what they say with real evidence I am perfectly fine with whatever they wish to say.

If that person comes into a thread spouting diarrhea from the mouth with no other intent besides starting fights then I could live without them. Most of the time those people contribute nothing and majority of what they say are lies.

But then they're not a troll (no matter if someone in the same thread says they are). I've seen people called trolls or haters automatically just because they have a dissenting view, and that's wrong. VGC does have some real trolls, albeit far far less than other websites, which is why I continue to come here and go much less to other gaming related sites these days.
