there was another one with small kids on it and one kid was wearing a yellow dress which made kinect glitch like crazy but apparantly this was because it needed calibrating for a dress.

lol but they still have time to fix these glitches. Unlike a lot of you, I don't hate Microsoft, I just don't like the 360.

While it may have something to do with being fed up with both the PR hype over Kinect combined with the Microsoft/Xbox fan brigade's attempt to feign enthusiasm over games like Kinect Adventures, I have to say that when watching videos made by gamer/reviewers who weren't enlisted by Microsoft to promote Kinect, it appears to fall short of what was initially promised.
They were neither being paid to promote Kinect, nor were they doing any sort of privileged special closed door sneak preview and the general lack of enthusiasm (from guys that admittedly would probably be happier previewing Halo Reach) was pretty apparent. They didn't feel obligated to make excuses at any rate.
While I'm sure a lot of these issues will be sorted out over the next 1-2 years, initially, when comparing what is very close to the production product to the concept simulations from a year ago, there is definitely more than just a thing or two missing.
Once you get past the novelty, which is really starting to look a lot more like PSEye/EyeToy stuff (also fun until the novelty wore off), the initial games just don't look like they deliver. This is not to say that people still won't buy it or even enjoy it as quite a few people who were relatively new or completely new to video games were perfectly happy playing games on the Wii by randomly shaking a remote in more than just a couple titles, but it would be very beneficial in promoting Kinect to the typical Xbox gamer (who isn't dedicated to doing free promotion for whatever MS is selling) if they actually publicly previewed some games that would appeal to those who prefer the bread and butter of the Xbox that includes Halo, Gears of War, Fable, etc.

I don't hate MS that's the thing why is it always assumed that is the case if you post anthing that shows ms product's in a bad light, i just hate people being misled that's all...
So far in this thread somebody has posted a set of people playing at the same event having a great time and enjoying themselves with Kinect working as expected but lets not dwell on that. Also in this same thread we have an actual attendee who can testify to the Kinect system working well when he used it. Funny thing is we do not dwell on that because that does not show Kinect failing.
visit www.kinect.me here you can watch lots more happy smiling people playing Kinect and guess what sometimes it probably did not work. It is almost like F1 you are just waiting for the crash, Enjoy!

Kinect as seen by PS3 owners ...if you can pick at it ...post it ... Did I mention the 360 was black and Shinny? Keeping Sigs obscure since 2007, Passed by the Sig police 5July10.I've made is clear that for me, Kinect is the least useful motion control opton, due to limiting factor of relying purely on input based on tracking of your movements without fine control.
But... I've realized it doesn't matter. I'm a form and function guy, I nearly became an Architect and Engineer - something being best for purpose matters to me. But that's not the focus for the average customer for Kinect.
Whether it is the best way to play a game or not if people find it fun then they find it fun. To me knowing whether a device is good and response affects my enjoyment - it's just the way I'm wired. But clearly for a lot of people it doesnt matter.
The fun is all that matters.
I have said I think Kinect will be popular in US and UK and I stick with that. I think a lot of people are going to think playing around with it, swaying about and jumping on the raft, etc. is fun and they're not really going to be judging the device the way I would.
So I'm going to make my peace with the fact that, for now anyway, the goals for Kinect have diverged with what interested me when it was first shown - the Milo & Kate elements in particular - and just wait and see how well it connects (sorry) with it's target demographic.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
more Kinect video from Hong Kong ACG show
she wearing a dress...and no any issues,odd
When the system is released in November, there are set to be 15 games available – most of which will be sports and fitness related. Ubisoft have developed a game called Your Shape – Fitness Advanced which promises to knock the Wii Fit out of the market with its full body workouts and no bulky balance board. Microsoft look like they’ve played a blinder here – but don’t take my word for it, go and try it for yourself. Kinnect Rooms in London are on Russell Street just off Covent Garden market and will be open to the public from Saturday. For more details and to book your place, visit www.kinect.me The tour will also be travelling the country in the next few months. More details to follow

Everyone is aware that there is already a version of Ubisoft's Your Shape Fitness on the Wii, right?
http://www.fitsugar.com/Game-Review-Your-Shape-Wii-6127140
It's been available since November of last year.
It comes with a camera (doesn't use the Balance Board) that tracks and displays user movement and matches it against the proper form demonstrated by the in-game trainer.
Sound familiar?
I doubt the differences are great enough to hype Kinect as a product that offers an experience unlike any other.
Ubisoft basically just ported Your Shape Fitness for Kinect.

Funny, I hate Microsoft, but I don't dislike many of their products, the only real shitty hardware that has a MS connection is actually the 360, they've always made solid hardware otherwise. Their software has a lot of bullshit in it but most larger software packages do as well, and Windows 7 isn't as shitty as that hell disaster of a piece of shit Vista, which has actual support for 64bit versions now.
