Forums - Nintendo - Other M to have Movie Mode

I was undecided on getting this game, but, yesterday I got my Nintendo Power magazine and got a surprised Metroid: Other M poster and now this news. I think I will buy this after all, I did play all the Metroid Prime games and I liked them all. I think I will like this one too.

Someone here had a bet that this game wouldn't have that many cutscenes. This means that user just lost.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I am glad that Metroid: Other M will gain vast amounts of content, two hours of cutscenes is the obvious pin-pointer.

I'm feeling the opposite. Cute scenes are okay for RPGs, but Metroid is about explration. Every Metroid game I played that had those just got in the way.

Cut scenes are not more content in Metroid. It's just a way to try to slap a movie into Metroid.

And that isn't from anyone else, in case you ask. That's how I feel abou it.

so this will probably be on a dual layer Wii disc or maybe 2 discs then

out of interest, how many dual layer or multiple disc Wii games have their been?  I can only think of Brawl and MP Trilogy for dual layer

Sakura Wars is also dual layer, I believe.

o_O

No way!!! There's no way the content of Sakura Wars needed dual layer. They didn't even include Japanese Voices!

2 Hours? Wow, that's a LOT. O_O

It's ok if the game is long enough. If it is 2h of cutscenes and 5h of game then...I cry.

Hopefully you will be able to skip cutscenes. Not that I will skip it on my first playthrough as I'm quite interested in Samus' story but it's a pain in the butt to be forced to watch the cutscenes when you're replaying the game.

Yeah, it's alright, and I don't mind cutscenes, at all, but I agree, the game needs a LOT of actual gameplay, too. This isn't the type of game you should breeze through in a few hours... We'll see.

It's not two hours of cutscenes, guys.

It's "over an hour" of cutscenes strung together by pre-recorded gameplay segments.
