Whoever buys the most gets catered to the most. Console games with the exception of a Blizzard release twice a decade sell like corn dogs and cotton candy at county fairs, while PC games sell  like deep fried okra in California.

DICE ain't stupid, they will make Bad Company 3 for the consoles, port it to the PC, and may throw a bone to PC gamers with free DLC, LAN play, and private servers. Or am I talking about Modern Warfare 3? I get the PC gripes of Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company 2 mixed up as I own both on the 360.

Battlefield 2 has sold about the same as the first Bad Company and the same as the second one of the 360 - that's 2.3 million, and that's not bad. I doubt the third one would do very badly if it were PC-exclusive. And piracy can't be as serious a problem for a multiplayer game as it is for single-player games, and Battlefield is traditionally a multiplayer game. Bad Company did take a new direction but that's because of consoles.

Anyway, it's not 'private servers', it's 'dedicated servers'. Not a big deal, though. And not sure about what you mean with MW2 and BC2 but MW2 has p2p while BC2 has dedicated servers on PC.

Actually it's not a correction, it's an adjustment. There's nothing wrong when you say "it's coming to consoles", it just lacks the details (which you shouldn't necessarily expect in a headline anyway).

Dumb down and do what you want with the Bad Company sub-series, that's fine. But mess with the mainstream Battlefield series, and there will be Hell to pay.

It will look good, just like every other Battlefield game in a while? The looks aren't everything. Gameplay is. That's what PC gamers are worried about. Sometimes small things that need to be cut for the consoles can have a big influence on gameplay, let alone bigger features.

Actually I wouldn't be so sure a game like Battlefield 2 would sell on any console. And that's what everyone was expecting Battlefield 3 to be prior to this announcement. With some improvements of course.

What I mean is that isn't the battlefield francise mutiplayer only so it would not sell on the wii.

I'm hoping that this wont mean a more Bad Company 2 experience vs expanding on Battlefield 2. I played quite a bit of Battlefield 2 and I'd like the sequel to improve on that. Thus, I'd like to see huge maps, 64 (or more?) player servers, all the vehicles (especially aircraft), ect.

Sure the destructable environments are nice and all, but that better not sacrafice the other stuff.
