Don't worry for Wii, its price can be cut at least another two times, if necessary. This should give it at the very least another two years of life as main Nintendo console and another two or three, even four, as entry level after Wii2 is launched, as at $100 or less Wii could keep on selling a lot for years (but at that point it would make sense anyway for Ninty to have an higher end console on sale too, as after more than 6 years from the previous, there would be a big market available and waiting for it). One more year could also be earned bundling Balance Boarde instead of making a price cut.

Thats something nintendo wont and cant do, simply because they have very little support from 3partys and don't have the resources to feed 3 maybe 4 consoles (counting the DS)all by themselves as soon as the wii 2 gets launched  by then nintendo will focus on 3DS and  WII2 exclusively even if the WII2 has backwards compatibility

For a NEW Wii buyer, EVERY game available, even the oldest, whether from Nintendo or 3rd party matters little, will be NEW.

People buying Wii for less than $100 will be very happy with platinum and other budget editions, bargain bins, etc. Some new games will be necessary, but in that phase multiplat ports will be acceptable, and the huge installed base will totally justify them, like it did with PS2. People are still buying PS2, even now that releases are becoming scarcer and scarcer, but the available library is immense. Anyway, even just 2 years as entry level console, after 5 or 6 years or even 7 as main console would mean a lifecycle ranging from 7 to 9 years total. Not as long-lived as PS2, but quite good anyway, and enough to largely exceed 120M sold.

when xbox 360 arcade slim released ? , next week

probaly just a small bump

Wii is going to need a price cut these holidays. Even with The XBOX 360 sales as they are, I still think the PS3 is looking like the console with the most momentum for 2011. Of course it's still early days but that's definitely the vibe I'm getting and the list of exclusives for the PS3 in 2011 alone justifies my opinion I think.

Xbox 360 epic sales... I'm kinda glad Wii is taken a blow... they betrayed a lot of Nintendo gamers... turning casual... it makes me cringe just thinking about it. The Wii is a fairly good console because of a nice handful of games but not like it was in SNES and N64 days when they were give us hardcore games but somewhere around the gamecube it turned into a casual gaming console and now I'm no longer a Nintendo boy... Xbox 360 guy now.(sigh)

I cant understand this line of logic... did Nintendo stopped making the games you like? or why do you say that

It should be obvious... Nintendo used to basically be what the PS3 and Xbox 360 is today. They changed and it's that change that left me change aswell. I enjoy mario games and Zelda too but I'm sorry that 3rd party support meant too much to me.

But firstly you're saying they turned casual during the GC era and that's the reason why you hate the Wii, and in your second post your hate is because of third party support...what's the real reason? N64 had little support by third parties and the Playstation brand was the most known brand in the world by casual players.

Read my post carefully because it's vague and really just a guess at when Nintendo turned casual... and its the best guess anyone can make...I said somewhere around the gamecube it turned into a casual gaming console. The point is it changed.

I thoroughly enjoyed my N64 that's the difference.... Turok, Golden Eye, Duke Nukem 64... The Nintendo 64 were supporting mature games or as I hate to call em, hardcore games.

I don't know what your digging for because it isn't hard to see the difference between Xbox 360/PS3 and the Wii. I don't really hate Nintendo... its TOO hard hate Nintendo because of the games theyve made in the past... I do resent Nintendo though a little.

This is how a lot of people feel... can't be the first time you heard someone talk about Nintendo that way.

There's a lot of people like you, but you can't blame both the casual games and the third party support really.

Nintendo made some casual games and some games like MK are a bit worse than the previous iterations...but other games, like the 3D mario games, are a lot better! As a whole Nintendo didn't change that much, there are just few franchises not on the Wii (Starfox and F-Zero).

For the third party support you're totally right, but Nintendo in 2006 wasn't the big winner like now, they couldn't buy big games like Sony and, especially, MS do. And If you can't do it in the first years, it doesn't matter what you do next, your console will have the same userbase.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

Kinda funny you say this, because Nintendo listening to their fans and shifting focus more back to their core audience lately is presicely the reason why Wii sales have started to slide these past months.

LOL, no it isn't ...

Wow... Wii Party must be the new definition of legs...

People are still talking about the Wii problem and the fact that they wet themselves watching its sales decline? Seeing the Wii up of 36% YoY, I can't really understand, the difference is that now the competition is able to move hardware, what they couldn't last year at this time.
