Like trestres said, the Wii could last 2 more years, but only if it had support and it doesn't, this is not a Wii is doomed post, i am not saying that.It is just that the Wii will live a natural 5 year life cicle.

I think the best strategy for nintendo is launch a console more powerful than PS3 at a 400$ price range and do the third parties make games as they are with 3DS. I think price is not a problem and nintendo knows that, because people got the Wii for 500 or 600 dollars on ebay for months after launch.


The Wii will definately last more than two more years, it has enough consoles sold for that. Remember its sold 70M which is only behind the PS1 and PS2 at this point in time. Further to that, if and when they release a new console it'll probably not be over $249 and definately not over $299 and it will be more powerful than the PS3, that much is certain at this point given a minimum release date of 2011.

I love it, that you have a god of war avatar while saying that, but I guess until further notice, ps3 is stuck in third place for awhile. A lot of people hoped that 360 would be third by sometime 2011, but doesn't seem like it now.

The reason I said that because, rarely does someone with such avatar go lol ps3 fans. Don't mean to offend you. 

theres nothing wrong with owning all consoles and liking particular games from each of em.

360 sales destroying... I think it'll settle somewhere around 80k or higher as others have said... it sounds right.

The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.

x360s had a massive fall in sales this week, I give it one month before xbox sales is at the same rate as ps3 sales, as both us and eu slaes for x360 is falling, and the japan boost only lasted for one week.

good sales for ps3, so close to wii now, it won't be long, another year i predict befor ps3 sales>>wii in EMEAA but only in non-holiday times, it looks like this is going to be the longest generation ever lol....

Of course it had a massive drop, it is supply constrained at the moment. Japan last week was still running at more than double what it was at before the 360s release, US increased by 4k last week. I doubt you will see any significant fall in numbers for the remainder of the year given the upcoming release scedule MS have in games and HW.

Also, I'm referring to US ACTUAL NON CLEARANCE PRICES.  UK Prices are always off the mark even with exchange rates...  360 Elite: $300;  360 S 250gb w Wifi: $300; 360 Arcade 512mb: $200; 360 S Arcade w Wifi and 4gb: $200

I don't get the US price comparison in an EU (okay, EMEAA) thread myself, but he does have a valid point on the clearance pricing. Your GAME link even acknowledges that the RRP of the Elite is £50 than the 4 GB arcade. I'll hazard a guess that the £149.99 arcade will also drop in price once demand subsides. (Discounting on systems seems to be somewhat commonplace in Europe, for some reason.) Amazon.co.uk confirms these retails, and still has a price of £189.99 on the old Elite. Going to Amazon.de shows a similar case: €237.23 on the old elite 120, and €203.99 on the slim arcade.

Also unrelated to other things, I can back up your statement on the release being the 20th of August, in regards to those lower posts.

was just under the assumption that all skus got about 50 taken off there price tag shortly after E3 i remember in 09 the elite and arcade were £199€249 and £159€199 that arcade was up from £129€179

even if not all of EU has the elite to 150 pound 180 euro they still have it pretty close and thats considering it comes with a HDD i was just trying to state why i dont think 3604gb wont have a big impact the prices was one reason i gave and the upcoming kenic bundle being a better value is the other

i dont agree with your prediction that the 360 4gb will get a price cut b/c it kinda already did its down from £159€199 to £149€179 and since it releases near sep when do you think they'll drop it again? ive rarely seen consoles get dropped in price soon after they release

why is the 360 uk and even euro prices similar to US dollars when converting but for wii and ps3 there not?

er... because sony and nintendo rip us off even more thna MS do?  i dunno....

how about the yen is much stronger in Europe ? If I'm not mistaken, Nintendo increased the price of the Wii in the UK because of the weak pound or something like that !

On the other side is the obvious fact that almost all of these slim sales goes to people that already have a xbox360 and want a quieter console. The game sales are as always.
