Was browsing N4G and came across this. If you ask me this is completely crazy and I am shocked that it isn't listed as part of the Kinect bundle.

Absolutely crazy... talk about added costs. Get Kinect and a game for $149.99 but not be able to use it...

As you should know, if you've purchase one of the older "non-Kinect Ready" Xbox 360s you will be required to acquire an adapter so it will work with your older Xbox 360. This was one of my main gripes with Kinect, it seems shafting to recent costumers that have purchased the most recent Xbox 360 Elite prior to the Xbox 360 S. EB Games has posted a listing for Microsoft's Kinect adapter, charging a whopping $49.99, which is the same price as purchasing a game for Kinect itself. We can't confirm if this price is what the Kinect adapter will eventually be retailing for, however we'll keep you guys posted. Update: Initially this seems like what is the Kinect adapter that Xbox 360, but It's possible that it may be some sort of overpriced 3rd party USB extension cable for Kinect. There are no more details regarding Kinect's separate adapter required to function on older Xbox 360s.

That's what I get for getting too worked up over a price of something I probably wasn't getting anyways, lol!

i wouldnt be getting it at 150$ anyway... in fact im not buying Kinect till 2100.

It's a Kinect port extension cable. You can tell because the male end of the cable has an indentation on one of the corners so it can't be plugged into a USB port.

Why that costs $50 is a mystery, but you know someone will end up buying it.

I'm going to take a huge guess here and assume that the $150 price of the Kinect kit actually includes the required AC adapter and Kinect port cable for the near 40 million consoles currently in circulation that aren't "Kinect ready."

Kinect does come with its own Power plug, if you have a 360s you just wont need to use it, if you have an old 360 then you just need to free up another wall socket. 

That adapter is clearly just to extend the data cable of the kinect just in case your 360 is no where near your tv for some reason. If your using a projector perhaps?

I was unware that the box set comes with the power adapter as well as the data cable required for the older 360 models. I asked Selnor, knowing of course that if anyone knew the answer it would be him.

That's why you shouldn't take any article from N4G at face value.  They are usually wrong.

Yeah I learned my lesson there, lol.

N4G is still great though for the massive meltdowns in the comment sections.
