Pretty amazing stuff, no? Of course it needs some refinement, but maybe we'll see this in... 5 years? What do you guys think?

in 3 years nintendo will have it.

it will be a long long time before this tech can actually be used in any applications.  taking 8 seconds to map a single command isn't going to fly with the public.

this kind of reminds me of early speach reconition programs that required you to speak each word in order for the software to reconise it.  it has been about 10 years now and the algorithums are sophisticated enough to not need that which makes it finally useful.  this tech is going to have to take in years worth of input before they can really apply it to any user and get expected results.

Very cool stuff.

This makes all gaming obsolete lol. I can't imagine though what happens when you die in a game and get pissed...

I have actually tested this at GDC 2008, more than 2 1/2 years ago. It was working, where the character moves and lifts objects if you concentrate well enough, but that was it.

Is that what happens to you, or to your onscreen avatar? LOL

Or maybe it'll just show you cute pictures of animals?

I wonder if this demonstration is also to emphasize the more cost-effective technology. Was the headset you were wearing back then the same? And did you have to calibrate your thoughts to the software?

Naw I think the next will be a combination of kinect, move, this, and 3d for full vr experience.
