EA's latest in the FIFA franchise becomes the first game released in 2007 to reach one million sales at UK retail.

EA has today announced that FIFA 08, the latest and possibly greatest title in the long-running series, has become the first title released in 2007 to reach one million sales at UK retail.

The publisher cites a host of reasons for the game's success, including the brand new game engine, the extensive in-game licenses (including the Premier and Coca-Cola leagues with all the official teams and players), the inclusion of the FA Cup and the host of problems reported with its rival PES 2008.

Good, maybe Konami will think twice before launching a crappy game (PES08) next time.

This is just UK. Worldwide probably PES is number one. Looking at vgchartz I think it's 3.7mln vs 3.5 mln. But it's not 100% sure as there are some errors (like 2 Fifa 08 for X360) and no data for PC. The close result seem good for PES couse it was released 4 weeks later.

 FOOTBALL doesnt suck. Neither does american football, theyre both great.

1 million in the UK that is a lot. But I understand that they want to win with England in a soccer match so a video game is the best place for them to do it =).

pro evo isnt quality it was a piece of shit this year, and dont say british people dont like quailty
