isn't the key guys behind rare still with nintendo ? so doesn't that mean that this RARE is just a name? so why not do a fansite for the real guys?

I know about Free Radical consisting of former Rare staff, but that's about all I know...

what happened to time splitters 4? i realize they were bought out but werent they still making it?

I don't think we will ever see Timesplitters 4...sadly.

The orginal guys that made rare what they were are still with nintendo after jumping ship from microsoft and getting the money and running. Screw microsoft they said on the way out...

I know the stamper brothers in real life ;)

"...the best way to prepare [to be a programmer] is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written. In my case, I went to the garbage cans at the Computer Science Center and fished out listings of their operating system." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

"Hey, Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

""Windows [n.] - A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.""

Clearly they have not played Viva Pinata! Seedos must be the most insane character Rare's ever made!

What, does quoting now work now? -_-

Anyways, after reading this post I realized that a Kinect vrsion of VP might actually work quite well.

I also thought about how they should make another Kameo.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Making Kameo and Viva Pinata for Kinect doesn't sound like a bad idea at all! That's what Rare should've been doing instead of making sports games...

The main problem is Microsoft is forcing Rare to be the counter-Nintendo, and not really letting them create. This Kinect stuff is rather sad-looking.

There were still glimmers of the creative Rare this generation, mostly from Viva Pinata, but that's about it.

Viva Pinata was damn good, though I know the creators of that are no longer with rare.

The new Banjo is supposed to be decent, and Rare has done a lot for the new dashboard - mainly in avatars.

Otherwise yeah it was one big waste of cash wad from MS so far, they should have bought Bioware when they had the chance.

It's just that simple.

No, the main problem is everyone who made Rare what it was on the late 90's left the company after the buyout.

If they had to pay what EA paid for BioWare, no they shouldn't have. I love BioWare, I really do, but they aren't worth nearly the amount of money EA paid for them.
