I have an ever-growing pile of books I need to read. I'm about three weeks behind now (around 20 books). I have most of them at home but I still need to make it to the store to check on last week's shipment.

What is in your backlog?

What is in your backlog?

Let's see:

3 iss. Brightest Day
3 iss. Secret Avengers
1 iss. Avengers
2 iss. Amazing Spidey
1 iss. Detective
1 iss. Batman
1 Iss. Wonder Woman
1 iss. Uncanny (god damn, I don't know why I keep buying these, they're terrible)
1 iss. Legacy

and a few others that I'm not recalling right this moment.

Can anyone enlighten me why Wolverine has red eyes now, or is that just part of his costume?

I've heard he's a vampire now?  I dunno.

X-men used to be cool. Somewhere along the lines it's just turned weird I continue to buy then being the completist that I am but only Uncanny and 'Legacy' (X-men). When Carey wrote in his own way and had a team the book was fantastic, Brubaker was rubbish, then they swapped Matt Faction's Uncanny was good until editors put that stupid Second Coming story into play, since then no X-men comic has been great.

At the same time as all that though people were raving about X-force this and X-force that. If I wanted to read stories about a bunch of murdering heroes (Angel murder's people, I mean what is going on there) I'd read it but then 2 of stories from that seemed to spill into the normal X-men and they were rubbish.

The new X-men book is jibberish and isn't even having an effect on the main titles (Uncanny and Legacy which I have have to call Legacy instead of X-men because of this new book), I don't want Vampires, they aren't cool.

.... I've had my moan... I'm off to buy more X-men comics. Avengers is great though.

Hmm, pie.

It looks like the Curse of the Mutants storyline is coming to an end shortly. Lets see where they move from there. I thought the whole X-Men vs. Vampires was not great but it was amusing.

My comic dealer this week screwed up my reserve and forgot Daredevil #511 which is a Shadowland tie-in so now I have to stop my reading.

I grabbed the "Siege" and "Blackest Night" trade hardcovers last week.  Great art in Siege but the story was underwhelming (but at least you-know-who died in the end so that was cool).  Haven't finished reading Blackest Night yet but so far, I'm satisfied.

I guess I should be reading Shadowland but it'll have to wait until I can buy it in trade form.

I guess I'm pickier than you. I thought Siege was shit and Blackest Night "meh".

I still have a backlog of issues (probably over 30 now) but I'm knee-deep in The Walking Dead. I'm about 15 issues in so far and it's awesome. It's not perfect but it's pretty damned good. It's too bad that the art is so inconsistent. The first few issues were beautiful but it has kinda turned into a mess now.

I am in a hiatus, no new comics till next week when I will receive blackest night 4,5 and 6 (already have 7 and 8) and a few others.

I'm watching the new Avengers cartoon on Disney and it's pretty good.  One thing, though:  When did it become accepted that Nick Fury is black (outside of the comics)?  I mean, I'm black and I appreciate the strong black role model but WTF?  The Green Lantern was black but it was a different guy (John Stewart) bearing the name.  Captain America was black but it was his partner Falcon wearing the uniform.  Nick Fury just turned black.  Can you just do that!?   Is it legal?
