Fair comment. I have bigged up to many games in the past. I feel with Alan Wake it's technically impressive and right up there, considering it's open world basis. What they achieved was technically a marvel in itself. Reach is another game like it. What you see is where you can go. It seems obvious to me that Bungie could have made the visuals alone better if they trimmed it down like all the top graphics games and made it narrowly linear and a small playable space. But they have definately put the Ram in the 360 to other uses. And I think the end product will wow when things are kicking off onscreen. |
Well, like I said I meant it affectionately. I know it's just passion and I do smile every time I see one of your threads and pop in for a look.
I tell you what, though, you really should try and get your hands on LBP and LBP2 even if only at a friends, as for me the engine under those titles is actually the most impressive yet this gen. The combination of full game plus full editor is amazing, and even Forge 2.0 still looks behind what you can do in LBP2 from the videos.
It's funny though, because LBP's seen as a fun platformer it's engine never really gets the attention it should.
Speaking of Forge 2.0 I was a bit underwhelmed by the Forge in Halo 3 but this time I think they've delivered what I was hoping for first time around.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
