Forums - Sony - Tactics Ogre Returns!!!

Never played this game and I love this type of game on PSP, it fits very well. I'm going to buy it only if Square Enix make it available trough PSN.

I'd have to say, this one that I would bet on not being localized. Being's it's not that popular in America, and the PSP is not that popular in America. 2 2=? 5 or 4

So my bet is on not.

could be wrong though.

You serious? They are bringing much much less popular jRPGs to the america nowadays.

It's already been confirmed, for America and Europe.  To be honest though, I'm a little surprised given how the PSP market has utterly bottomed out in the west... and annoyed that much more at SE skipping over SaGa 2 DS now. :/

That's not suprising at all. Game like this will get very good sales in Japan and probably that region alone will cover development costs. US/EU release will be just a little bit more pocket money. Translation for such game should be reasonably cheap (as it will probably have very limited VA).

I'm saying "surprised" chiefly due to SE's localization record.  Starting last year, they suddenly started taking a very conservative approach to what they bring over for DS, I'm just surprised they aren't extending that thinking to PSP, considering it's market is far, far worse off.   If Tactics Ogre were a DS title, I don't think they'd bring it.

In light of how Sony's pushing the PSP, I think it's safe to say that SE is receiving some form of incentive for localizing PSP titles.  Nintendo, on the other hand, doesn't seem to feel the need to push the DS on third-parties.

This is a very good interpretation right there. Now I understand why you tought it might not be coming here. Like previous comment, I also think they might be receiving incentive in releasing on PSP.

I'm also glad Matsuno is back, hopefully sqaure can get the team back on an all new game after this.

if they have a brain they'll make him do the next FF and keep members of the team from throwing a hissy fit due to his ideas being WAY different from a typical FF game.

I'm at a loss as to how that has anything at all to do with localization track record?
