ps3 slim 1st week was over 260k and it did it with a 250 pound 300 euro price tag it also sold 220k in all regions not counting UK 360S only sold 110k in all of EU not counting UK i know 360s has only a few days of data but even 3 weeks after ps3 slim release it was managing 140k in all EU

now somebody tell me what they think 360 is going to do after 3 weeks of relaunch i doubt ya'll be still in triple digits

Yikes, those are massive sales for 360. I think it's a done deal at this point that Xbox 360 will remain ahead of PS3, if only by a tiny bit. I'm not sure if Kinect will have anywhere near this impact, but even without Kinect, 360 should have enough distance between itself and PS3 to keep 2nd.

Wii just needs to hang in there and it will be back on top in a few short weeks. Japan will cripple 360 from having a weekly worldwide lead for too long. Once the dust settles and everything equalizes, sales should go to a weekly pattern of Wii>360>PS3 like it has been the majority of the gen.

Interesting that your answer proves every point I made. You have no clue about mass manufacturing costs and production costs, and even prove yourself wrong in the same sentence (small hint: adding/changing components increases, not decreases, costs for the first production runs). Do you have any idea what the R/D costs are for:

a) a new case b) a new hd case c) a new interface (Wifi) d) a new power supply e) a smaller chipset (and particularly e) could be massive depending on what really is inside the chip carrier)?

and f) your "super profitable Elite" sold for $50-$80 less in Europe than a PS3. Explain why Sony loses $ on a console but MS is "very profitable" on essentially the same thing that sells for 25% less?

PS3 fans say "but but but the game sales aren't rising lol!" it was the same when the PS3 slim launched, how about giving it time?

and 360 fans looking up on the others when the 360S launch was smaller overall than the PS3 slim launch, the older 360 SKUs are cheaper, and the 360 owners have more of a reason to upgrade it.

How about giving up on the console wars for a couple of months, so that no side will look dumb in retrospective (like it always happens?)
