Well I quite paying for live when I got bored of the last call of duty and I kept telling my friends that the next version I would buy for PS3 so I could play on multiple accounts for free.

Anyways if the subscription to Activision is true there is even more reason for me to buy the game for PS3 because I am not going to pay twice for one service.

Why would you pay for CoD subscription service at all? this is leading video games down a bad road.

Edit* my horrible spelling

your right I was debating about not buying it, but I love COD online more than any other.

Still I can play Medal of Honor, HALO:Reach, Crysis 2. Killzone 2 and probably many more. A point well taken.

If future COD games had this, then the sale price for the game should be $20 or something in stores.

That buys you the single player game, and if you want to go online its an additional $50 a year for the COD network (which allows online play for all COD games).

Despite my personal opinions about such a plan, I dont see how this would work on 360.

For PS3, online play is free initially, then the COD network would be $50 annually.

But for 360, what the hell is the LIVE fee for if it doesnt cover the ability to play the best online shooter?

2nd best. Halo reigns supreme. Chicken supreme.

You cannot say paying for Live is the same as paying for MMO.

Xbox Live has so much to it, and so much more advanced than it's competitors that it's easy to see

1. where the money goes ( R&D)

2. Access to very impressive Live applications.

For consoles. Not including MMO's. I don't tihnk this is a good idea. Yeah thy get money from the COD diehards but alot of people will be moving to Bad Company/Another shooter franchise if this actually happens. And live PLUS a subscription for a game in a genre where you have a ton of competition with other companies giving shooter with better performance w/o charging people.

I'm actually thinking they will adopt a freemium model in the future.. like for some games on the iphone: Get 1 part of the game for free or cheap and expand the game as you would like for $$$.. say for guns, maps and unlimited play... some iphone freemium games you can only play for a few rounds before you have to "recharge" (can't play for a few hours) .. unless you pay $$ so you don't have to recharge..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

i doubt anyone would pay for live subscription if a silver account would give access to online gaming. So basically live and fee based MMO are the same. you pay to play online.

I'm already paying $50 a year for online multiplayer, they charge $15 for 3 maps (which i refuse to pay) and now they are charging even more to play what should be free, as if they hadn't made enough money.

well.

**** you Activision.

between news like this and the namco bandai guy saying its better to release unfinihsed games than finished games i really am getting worried about the video game industry
