look.. can we just get this very clear for everyone (and you)..
he says it sold 40% of the 452k, obviously an approximation.
thats getting on for 200k
the 360S was on sale from the 16th/17th
so the 360S sold up to 200k in 14 days on tight supply.
whats the problem? wheres the negative angle there?
lets cut to the chase... would you say thats good or bad?

The thing is, Pachter isnt saying the S sold 40% during its sales period between this and that date, minus the initial sales of previous models combined blah blah blah. He's clearly saying that out of the 470k 360 sold in June, 40% were the S. Which is true? No? Yes?
Or am i missing some vital information to where Pachter is lying with those numbers? Cus i cant see it?
But the fact that the S sold 200k in 14 days, and the sales throught that period puts the S model to 60%, is just a positive spin on it and clearly shows that the S is doing great!

go and read the source article... it says the 360S sold JUST 40%.. lol. just!... unreal.

Im sorry, i've read the OP, the Wired linked Source and the Wired NPD link, both posted in the OP, but i cant find the "just 40%" ?
All i find is "Microsoft’s redesigned box accounted for 40% of the 451,700 Xbox 360s it sold in June, said Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter"
I do however see the "but discounted old hardware sold more", which is true.. but false, due to what you've already said.
