They make it sound like he quit instead of them canning him. That makes their motivations even more suspect.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said but I don't think you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Yeah. So all of the news sources that broke the story are wrong, but CNET can't tell us why they're wrong or what really happened.
Bullshit.

Why do people care so much about reviewers?

Isn't the story that the pressure from advertisers wasn't necessary? They fired him pre-emptively no?

Why trust any, maybe we should stop being sheep to the opinions of others.
I understand that this will probably cause me to get quoted a few times and yelled at, but why are people so quick to listen/agree with a guy who just got fired (and his friend) on the circumstances of his departure, yet you deny a just as equally possible one-sided reply from gamespot? of course, i'm assuming i've completely missed the reason why people actually did agree with him

I don't have money to buy every game, nor time to play them all. So I go to other people who have more information about a game than I do (at least they've played it). Based on what they say about the strengths and weaknesses of a game are, keeping in mind other things that other people say about the game, I judge whether a game is worth purchasing or not.
And that is why reviewers are useful, and their integrity and professionalism are important. This little sheep figured all that out on his own.

"The worst part about these reviews is they are [subjective]--and their scores often depend on how drunk you got the media at a Street Fighter event." — Mona Hamilton, Capcom Senior VP of Marketing

Exactly. Most outlets have all stated that it is rumored that he got fired for said reasons. This whole charade, at this point in time, can only be described as tabloid pr0n. People have already exploited it to justify why their favorite game received said bad review and why that other game on that other system got a good review; It's a consipiracy!
Of course, it could be true... it's just not certain. Innocent until proven guilty. Lest we forget.
