Potential problem for 3DS

This might help

The upcoming launch of Nintendo's 3DS is getting people pretty excited as they imagine their first glimpse of true 3D gaming in the palm of their hand. For 12% of those giddy gamers, however, the moment could be a disappointing one.

According to British charity The Eyecare Trust, as many as 6m Britons can't properly process 3D images due to visual impairment. The charity claims a quick eyetest can detect such a problem and that treatment could be as simple as a new pair of glasses or some "vision therapy", which we imagine to be rather like retail therapy only with less purchasing.

Perhaps Nintendo could include a coupon for a discount eye test with every 3DS sold.

I hope I can see the 3D awesomeness properly, I don't wanna end up lookin like that dude.

damn dr.a.peter.nintendo: you're all over the news today.

anyways, this stat has been around for a while and will obviously effect all 3D pushes no just the 3DS.  At least nintendo had enough forthought to allow you to turn 3D off if you so choose to.

I'll just get a new pair of glasses if this happens to me. That is of course unless they are ridiculously expensive.

I also wonder how many people have problems with the glasses.

I know that I do.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

96(95.7) of 100 people are not gaming (I assumed 300 million video gamers and a total population of 6.9billion), teh shock

And how many can see high-definition 1080p so well that it looks better than 480p?

Probably about 1 in 10 can't. I know I can't see any benefit due to my eyesight.

But I don't recall any articles like this about HD.

Did you know that about 8% of men are color blind (to some extent)?

The reason I bring this up is because (as long as you're aware of a problem and deal with it) these minor accessibility problems rarely have much impact on the popularity of a product.

There's even a graph that shows the proper tv screen size, viewer distance and resolution and where it's possible to see a difference.

Yh i'm one of them. You need 2 perfect working eyes to see 3D. and unfortuantly for me I have way above average vision in one eye but can just about see in the other so i'm screwed

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

1 in 10 people are blind/ have seeing difficulties. This is no suprise, if anything I thought it would be greater.
