A row has erupted after Blizzard - the publishers of the popular online game World of Warcraft - announced that users on its site forums would have to post under their real names.

I think the people at Blizzard that aren't working on the core games are brain dead and retarded. First the pile of shit that Bnet 2.0 is, now this? Really? How stupid can someone get?

Maybe the people with the ideas are all 70 years old and don't know jack shit about the internet? That or they have downs? Or were dropped on their heads as children? Those are the only 3 excuses I can think of that doesn't make the people at Blizzard utter and complete idiots.

I love this idea. Blizzard forums are always a steaming pile of dog shit due to the retards that troll there. Any change that could make it a useful spot to get information and exchange ideas is welcome.

Except that only idiots would post in that setting anyhow. I highly doubt anyone with more than 3 braincells would post in an online forum where a full name is given.

Or they want their forums to be rid of useless trolls who do nothing but shit up the place. Or they realize from things like facebook and the like that people don't give two shits about giving their name to almost complete strangers. Or they realize giving your name does jack shit, and has no consequences beyond the ones paranoid people imagine up in their own heads.

Facebook begs to differ. Who gives a shit about real names anyways? What is the problem with people knowing who you are? The internet isn't all that anonymous.

Because facebook is topped to the brim with unreasonable people who know how to use the internet, right? As someone already pointed out, given a name one can easily find out your phone, email, address, etc. In fact there is software for it made and it works very damn well.

Internet never was anonymous, to begin with... strange decision, anyways
