Forums - Microsoft - Are we ever going to get the MOH beta?

So I guess the Medal of Honor beta got delayed again for whatever reason. Is this thing ever coming out? I'd like to know whether to get this or Call of Duty later this year, but at the rate we're going now, I'll probably buy Call of Duty out of sheer annoyance at EA's apparent apathy toward the X360 of late.

So what gives? I don't get how there could be anything holding it back, and the conspiracy theorist in me likes to think EA is way more concerned about the PS3 than they are with the X360, hence the PS3 and PC getting it at the same time, while we're over here in lala land scratching our heads, wondering if we'll ever get it.

You know I totally forgot about this.  I'll check it out on the PS3 and let you know what it's like.

Off-topic - do you have MW2?  I never see you on-line with MW2 in or I'd invite as we typically have room.

your not missing much. It's like some weird COD/Battlefield hybrid. It's like COD MW2 and Battlefield bad company had a baby. lol

Sadly no. I'll probably get Black Ops though. Are you getting that? I'm sure I could use some people to play with.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

From what i've seen it's just like BF: BC2, but with COD killstreaks...but maybe i'm generalizing too much. Either way, for me i've never been big on COD's, or Battlefield's online multiplayer as i have Halo, so my FPS purchase this year will be Halo: Reach.

Regarding EA's love affair with Sony as of late, i believe it's just their way to combat Activision. COD is now established as the biggest console FPS of this generation, and Activision has invested heavily into Microsoft for that strong foothold. EA hasn't had a big impact in the gen's FPS genre, and what better way than to make their impact on the "other side" for the support of their FPS offerings.

I think it's created/creating a divide, PS3 is for EA, Activision is for X360. PS3 has Battlefield, X360 has Call Of Duty.

Late to answer I know, but I was just able to download and play MOH on my PS3.  I played about 5 or 6 matches of Team Assault, and used as many weapons as I could between the two factions.

Overall I think MOH has a distinct (not unique, but distinct) visual style to it, and the characters seemed to have a little more weight to them then in COD.

Hmmm. Thats about it for likes.  Let me preface this by saying that my connection to the host on all of my matches, HAD to be jacked up.  That is the only possible reason that could account for the connection issues I had. I could empty whole clips into the enemy, and they often had time, while under continuous fire, to turn, find me and shoot a couple of shots (killing me).  I also found that when I was shooting at nothing, gun seemed to work fine, but when I was shooting at an enemy, it would fire a 3 round burst, then knife melee.  After that initial melee (if I lived) the gun seemed to work properly.  FInally the lack of a killcam is frustrating - having no idea where you were shot from, particularly on a map that you are just learning = no fun.

All in all I'd score this as an incomplete...if I could find a match where I wasn't made of glass and all enemies were juggernauts, there might be fun to be had.  As it is (dying quickly, unwanted knife melees, shooting marshmallows instead of bullets, no killcam)...well let's just say I'm not in any rush to get this on either system based upon this beta.

Already played it and it sucks for me... Same old s***... Black Ops for me not this...

Anyway Halo Reach will be the best FPS in the next 2 years so...
