I don't know what it is, but something looks very off about these. They're definitely photoshopped (all game screenshots released to press are) but these ones are obvious and just don't look right.

Especially this one:

It looks like it's a cardboard cutout of the guy and someone just stuck it in the picture to make it look cool. As for the others, I can't really put my finger on what makes them look odd or off.

I thought the exact same thing. There's just something off about it and I just can't put my finger on it...

I have serious doubts that this game will be any good. Didn't previewers basically say that it had pretty graphics, but that the gameplay was decidedly "last-gen"?

 last-gen = thumbsticks, right?

What bugs me the most about this game is the art direction. The technology is impressive, but it ends up looking ugly to me anyway. They have an incredibly intricate game engine, but they only use two colours. WTF.

A high-res turd doesn't look better than a low-res turd. In fact, it looks worse.

these are not "new"

they are very old in fact

ALSO I want to see new environments....

If they are old shots, you'll see the same *old* shots on other sites soon. I got these off gamespress site. If you have access to newer shots, please show me. However, since Sony is one of the site's sponsors, I would rather trust their shots and word vs. yours. Nothing personal ...

I know there's JPEG compression and the fact it's being played from a video trailer to compensate for. It doesn't take a genius though to know the shots just released are photoshops or original concept art. The game will NOT look like that all I guarantee it.

All those 'pre-alpha' comments or whatever are bull too - the game should be in the process of having bugs ironed out - gameplay issues tweaked and whatnot - the engine and visuals should not still be in any kind of development or progression.

All of the screenshots are ridiculous. They try way too hard to look cool. Why are there like 5 people standing in front of you, and you aren't dead yet. How could this situation ever arise? Why is someone jumping over a guardrail right into where your gun is aiming.

If this is actual gameplay, the AI is retarded (these situations should never occur). If these are staged screens, they are trying way too hard to make up situations that "show off the engine" putting 5 enemies in the screen at once staring at you, and some guy jumping over a guardrail just to show of the real time shadows. I'd rather just see actual situations from the game.

That may contribute to why these screens seem "off," but there's something more to it. I get that feeling as well. The game by all means could be very impressive, but I am withholding judgement till I can sit it in motion.

Here's a video from my band's last show Check out more (bigger) videos here http://www.youtube.com/user/icemanout

This game looks awesome, I especially thought the demonstration was interesting where they freezed the game up in the air at the beginning of the demonstration level and zoomed in all the way to ground level, great draw distance!

PS3 vs 360 sales

Update: Apparently, Gamespress got it wrong. I found the same shots on this site from late August. Sony has re-released their shots *touched up.* I guess they did this to calm investors.

Here's one: http://www.play3-live.com/jeux/image-killzone-2-ps3-24.html

I apologize for any hype I generated.

In the trailer on PSN they show the guy right in front of you hitting the player with his gun. All of those screenshots are from the trailer and the HD trailer looks way better.

I'll take the case!!!
