Forums - General - 2010 NHL Off-Season thread

a tad late, but here it is, the 2010 NHL Off-Season thread, here we will talk about all the big trades, free agent signings and predictions for the next season.

So 1st things first... where do you all think Kovalchuck is heading? after turning down the Kings I'm personally leaning to either the Islanders or an outside shot to the Avalanche.

I think he might end up in Toronto

But you can be sure the super conservative Sabres will not touch him.

I'm not sure I would want him on my team.

ya I definatly DO NOT want him on my Flyers, he's a me first type of player and the way the Flyers are built right now its a team system, he would'nt be a good fit there.

moments after making this thread reports are coming out of NJ that Kovalchuck is signing a seven year 60 million $ contract with the New Jersey Devils

The salary cap sucks.

It's ruining my beloved Blackhawks.

True but it gives small market teams(my sabres) a chance.

I was pulling for your hawks after the Sabres were knocked out.

Great blend of size toughness and skill

And Kane is a local kid

I was hoping the sabres would make a run at volchenkov but they missed out

I'm thinking the Devils have to move Rolston at the very least to sign him (if not White or Salvador as well). This will make it interesting next off-season, assuming Kovalchuk signs there - what will Parise make then, if Kovalchuk gets an ~$8.6M contract?

ugh cant wait for Kovalchuck to just sign somehwere so we can get this going
