Sony doesn't lie to you. They don't tell you things which are strictly untrue. They tell you the truth in order for you to come to the wrong conclusion. They haven't lied but still you're misled. I know this'll probably get locked, I'll definately get attacked and theres a chance I'll have a lenthy ban.
Recent information has come out and I was at first thinking that Sony had lied to people. But then I realised that in a strict sense they had not. They had simply stated facts in a way which was misleading. See any game can fill up a Blu Ray disc if you fill up the rest of the space with pictures of horse manure. Any game is of course not possible on another system if you say it in the strictest of senses.
See: http://www.play-mag.co.uk/latest-playstation-news/sucker-punch-we-made-dumb-decisions-with-infamous/
Apparantly they didn't use the Cell processor as effectively as they implied with the first game, however now with the second they are? Interesting how the centre of their original argument blows away their original statment.
However thats actually not my strongest case. My best case is the question of the Blu Ray capacity statements. See you can download a game like LBP which apparantly filled up a Blu Ray disc and of course was not possible on any other system and yet it takes up less than 10GB all in a magically small download package of a few GB. I don't know about any of you but I consider 'fill up' to be at least half way. I don't go away from the gas station with a 'full tank' and the needle not over half way.
See now I believe I understand how Sony operates. Their developers are the most talkative about other systems out of all the first and second parties out there. How many Wii developers even speak of the PS3/360? How many of Microsofts have spoken negatively on the PS3? From what I recall only Turn 10 whereas I find difficulty in thinking of major developers who haven't made pains to mention other systems whilst working for Sony or owned by Sony.
Sony says whatever suits Sony at the time. They speak the truth and opinions but quite often that truth is misleading and the opinions aren't what you'd call the best of PR. They play peoples emotions to support themselves and their agenda. If it were possible to categorise a company as a troll, then they fit the bill.
Tease.
