Very good write-up on Eurogamer-http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-vs-onlive-article?page=1
Too expensive, uses too much bandwidth and not enough quality for me. This paragraph from the conclusion is particularly damning-
"Of course, in terms of overall value for money, OnLive says you don't require any specific gaming hardware and you'll never need to upgrade, so this in itself sounds like you're making a massive saving, but the fact is that the PC required to run the system isn't insignificant. Unless you're running on a laptop, upgrading it with a relatively inexpensive graphics card will offer an overall gameplay experience that effortlessly beats OnLive on quality and response."
I usually game on my (30 month old) desktop which runs just about everything at 1680x1050 in medium-high detail, but I also have a business laptop and even that is more than sufficient to run shedloads of games off GoG along with HL2. OnLive really doesn't make sense to me as a PC gamer. The only reason I can see for using it is for PC game rentals, but I'd want my ISP to be far better than they currently are first. Maybe in ten years time.
