So Nintendo patented WiiFlow? :P
2 years later and they might actually start using online for updates.

This meshes nicely with that holographic WORM drive that Nintendo is rumoured to be sinking millions into.

The common abbreviation for a hard drive is HDD. Hard Disk Drive.
This helps reduce the confusion between the magentic data storage system and the display resolution marketing phrase.
But this doesn't sound like a retail product to me. While the concept of having a game and related data in its own partition would work for static retail kiosks or special ordered Wii (static as in the game selection remains constant), it's a poor idea for a dynamicly utilized Wii (games added and removed).
To resize or remove a game's partiation requires a whole reformatting of the hard disk. It's time consuming, easily corruptable and tough on a HDD's life span.
A standard directory system would be a superior method for dynamically used Wii's. Paritions could then be used to seperate game data, saved data, system files, online connectivity files, etc.... This way you could format a partiton (delete everything) without losing all data and you'd not have to worry about the size or complete remove of a partition.

Once upon a time HD was the most common abbreviation for hard drives. It has pretty much died in recent years though to avoid confusing situations like this one.

Except hard drives are actually abbreviated as "HDD".
