Sold 39K good or bad?

Will it have legs or bomb?

What are your thoughts of this?

I assume most people that wanted Demon's Souls badly in Other's probably already got it a long time ago by importing it, but I dunno maybe word of the mouth will give it legs like its done in America and Japan.

I would have thought a little more than that but its not a horrilbe number.  You are probably right though,  the majority of people that wanted it probably just imported it.   It should have good legs though,  I expect it to anyway

Yeah i already bought the US version ages ago, and this game really is purely for hardcore's so i really doubt it will sell that well.  Wouldn't be surprised if many of those 39,000 people actually bought the US/Chinese version and now are rebuying the EU version to play with people in their area

It's pretty horrible, but expected.

It was sold out in 3 shops that i went to... thought it would do better. maybe it'll be corrected.

Could be a mix of things to be honest.

1. Importing probably hurt the sales quite a bit

2. A Small shipment

I thought it would do less, like 20k or below, so that 39k is good in my opinion, but I doubt it will have "legs", for most of us probably pre-ordered the game and "normal" people neither know it nor have the chance to see it in shop and pick it up because of it's small shipment (Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de and Amazon.fr seem to be sold out).

PS3 is region free. So importing Demon's Souls by those interested is only natural. It did as it should, it's almost a frickin' year late!

I was hoping for a top 10 entry: Got that.

I was thinking 35-40K would be a decent first week: Got that.

So my expectations were met, hence I am satisfied with its sales performance.

What I would like to see, though I think it's probably not likely, is for week 2's sales to be above 30K.

When I went to my local JB Hi-Fi to pick up my pre-order there was only one Demon's Souls available for general sale on the shelf (store dude didn't realise I had pre-ordered so when I said I'd come to get Demon's Souls he said "I think we have one copy left"). I wen't back the next day and the game wasn't on the shelf any more. Wondering how limited the limited Edition was. Perhaps it only had a shipment of 50K. After all they wouldn't want too many thousands of ltd ed versions with the expense of the 2 books and soundtrack CD languishing on shop selves.

I hope they come out with a basic retail version at an even lower price.

my little shop said they ony had 17 copies sent to them and they only had 1 left when i went in,the week it opened,

i didn't realise the black phantom edition was the only one for sale,not bad for the normal price though,

i'd already imported it,but i might buy one if i see it cheap for the soundtrack,i can't resist soundtrack editions
