Calling people sheep is an insult. Its a stereo type and once people start casting down stereotypes they stop thinking. There are people here who would rather call people names than try to even understand why they would buy an iPhone over an Android, an Xbox 360 over a PS3 or vice versa for both of these. Noone ever got called a sheep by an Android fan for buying an Android phone because everyone else has an Android phone. Its an insult reserved for people who dare to think differently even if they think alike to many other people.

There are a lot of people who buy Apple products because they are cool without any proper reasons for buying one. Very often they don't understand the competition and just think that the iPhone is the only answer because of Apple's ridiculous adverts. I am a bit of a sheep because I always buy Sony products, but at least I know that there are often better alternatives and the advantages of my various Sony things

@ c0rd, she uses her laptop for excel primarily, something which is far better on PC, and it bothers me because she makes me help her with all her mac problems

why don't people start making threads called everything is doomed if we are going to do comparisons like that

In some situations I agree some of the choices about kinect are bad (for example pricing), but I think unfortuantely this kind of device will be eaten up by casuals, but only in america.

If you read the Who Killed The Kin article linked at the bottom of that one you'll see that a large part of it was because Verizon renegged on their original promise to offer these phones at a cheap subscription rate which would help in drawing in the tweens and twentysomethings these phones were aimed at.  Instead they were priced the same as much more fully featured smartphones.

It's a shame, I think the UI and cloud integration on these phones is extremely well done.   I hope they decide to integrate this tech into the Win7 phones.

You do know that MS OS domination is more than 80%. Isn't the fact that sheep is all about following the herd would put anyone who uses an MS OS a sheep. Sheep mentality is suppose to be mindless follower. People get MS because it's a mindless of course to have. If anything going Linus or Apple for anything is bucking the trend.

This is more a behavior that people are following a different flock of sheep than your own and as squilliam point out. It's an aggressive behavior for acting differently.

Yeah, a bit of a misunderstanding on my part. I knew the Zunepass was coming to winmo7, but I thought the two devices were running different versions of Windows. Perhaps they are and will continue to run different OSes, but MS says that they'll run the same software, and that is what's most important. MS can merge the look and feel of wimo7 into the Zune down the line.

I just hope that these dumb products from the Entertainment division don't end up sinking the whole division, Xbox included.

I don't think it's likely at all, they should have the sense to separate those two things, but it's still worrying.
