Forums - Gaming - Playstation Move UK pricing. Quite expensive.

I can pre-order the new 360s, which is £199.99, without any deposit at all. Did you just make up that deposit thing?

I am fully aware that online for some reason does not require a deposit. Probably becasue they send those from a warehouse.

But it is definately deposit instore. As the link above shows I'm not lying.

Dont be so cynical.

Any links with stores and/or consumers complaining about the price?

I ask this because from what I see stores in the UK seem to believe the Kinect is going to release at £124.86. This is according to ShopTo and they complain that the price is too high and thatthey want MS to lower it because pre-orders are "very low".

This is in the UK.

Referring to this http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3180188 ?

to be fair, it's low for Move at this point too tho

Yeah but that isn't the point. Selnor is in here trying to act like the pricing of the Move is too expensive meanwhile Kinect is no better not to mention Kinect comes with no game as far as we know right now.

He says Kinect will be £79.99-89.99 but considering that no games will be patched for Kinect he needs to also add a Kinect game price on top of that, so it probably easily surpasses £100 just to get started while it is £50 to get started with Move.

In the UK there is currently no game bundles for Move either. Just an installation disc.

Notice this is the box instore in the UK right now. Notice where it says included: Move controller, Camera and starter disc.

Selnor hating on the PS3, where have I seen that before?

Seems your correct that for some reason they aren't packing in the Sports Champions game like they are in the US and Japan, but at least you get a demo disc.

Plus Move has the advantage of having many PS3 titles patched to support Move controls, which is something Kinect does not have, which makes a Move game purchase a non necessity if you have any of the patched titles.

Realistically though, I cant see either Move or Kinect not coming with a game in the UK.

I fully expect both to have sports bundles.

If Dance Central was 1st party I would suggest MS to bundle that with Kinect. Just Dance sells pretty well there if I am not mistaken.

Hopefully you're right though and MS bundles a game and Sony bundles more than just a demo disc with Move. I just don't understand why everyone but EU gets a game while they get stuck with a crap demo disc. It is almost like they want these things to fall flat on their faces.

I think that Both Microsoft & Sony are pricing their accesories like that of the Wii Balance Board. I don't nessarary have a problem with this line of thinking, but the difference in userbase for the balance board is more diverse, and at the time offered a different experience.

.....For all the bravo that both MS & Sony have had about their motion controllers it really comes down to adoption for NEXT gen. Because as Ben Feder from 2k mentioned, neither one of these devices will bring about major marketshare change. If they can't get the idea of motion controls associated with their devices this gen, Nintendo will have more of a stanglehold next.

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

Good news, MS confirmed that Kinect will come with a game.

"    Following yesterday’s report on the technical specifications of Microsoft’s forthcoming Xbox 360 peripheral, Kinect, Electronic Theatre has today been informed of the intended contents of the North American and European retail packages. Kinect is currently expected to arrive at retail in both territories late in 2010, and will be accompanied by an interesting line-up of software.

Of course, the Kinect device will include the Sensor Unit itself, in addition to a Power Supply Cable, a Wi-Fi Extension Cable and, unsurprisingly, an instruction booklet. The  biggest surprise however, is that Microsoft has confirmed that the package will include a Kinect game. No further details on exactly what this game is have yet been revealed, and with the likes of Kinect Sports, Kinect Adventures! and Kinectimals all currently expected to be featured as full-priced retail releases, the revelation leads us to believe that it may in fact be software that hasn’t yet been seen.

Microsoft’s full-body motion controller system for Xbox 360 is set to launch this November throughout Europe. No exact date or price have yet been announced, but Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on Kinect and the Xbox 360 system."
