I've been working for 8 years as a Web developper but I'm not sure exactly what kind of article we're talking about here. Could you link us to some VGChartz articles that are similar to what you're looking for?

Typical articles could be:

- Weekly pre-orders chart
- Weekly buzz chart
- Weekly sales preview / review

For the general format, look to ones I've written previously on VGChartz.com along with the articles that Jacob writes.

What I really want though is someone who can be involved with the more professional report writing as well - think 50-100 page analyst reports or bespoke projects for clients. We are getting a lot of requests for this kinda work so I want to ensure we can take it on in future. Some kind of analyst experience is obviously important here - even if it is some kind of college / university thesis or something similar - you need to be competent with data, able to put together graphs and charts and explain findings in a clear, concise and professional manner.

Obviously anyone who loves the site and has a natural interest in the industry (and has been following the trends for some time) will have a massive advantage here.

We can discuss salary upon application but it will be a well-paid position (especially for the professional report writing for clients).

Brett

post a thread with a topic and we can all post articles there and then you select from that

This makes me sad my statistically chops are sorely out of practice.  Last time I did a report for a proffesional buisness had to of been 7-8 years ago.  (well and only time.)

Don't have the needed web expierence anyway.

Though I am a bit surprised you guys use Excel.  While I'm familiar with it... i'm not a big fan.  I like both SAP and SPSS better.

Hey, I've read these forums and site articles for a while and have a few questions.

Firstly, what's the age limit? Would you prefer someone of a certain age? Unfortunately I'm only 16 (Still a very good Business Student [95%] will aims for a Business career in marketing and have 50 page analysis projects).

Secondly, is there any training or guidance etc involved? Because I have a very good working of Excel - but if it came to submitting my Excel pieces into a report or post here I'm not sure what to do. (I'm assuming it's not just a simple copy and paste...right?).

Finally, is there any point in applying if one has no experience or knowledge of php, or web coding etc. I'm more into the business side than the IT one.

Thanks.

not for myself but I have a freind who might be interested, Ill drop him a line. Im just posting here as a bookmark : p

I'm one of the applicants... emailed brett with the test article that he wanted and we'll have to see best fits the needs of the website
