I'd rather have a pushy friend than one that one that would let me make a stupid decision. He said his friend doesn't even play his 360. But now that a slim 360 came, he wants to spend $300 on that? And what's worse, he was about to get a PS3 before the slim 360 came out. So back to my example. You have a PSP. You don't play it, it's gathering dust. You were about to get a DS, but then BAM, PSPGo comes out. No new games, just new hardware. All of a sudden, you don't want the DS anymore, you want to buy the PSPGo because it's a redesign. What kind of friend would I be if I saw that you had one thing that gathered dust, and you wanted to try something new, but is about to spend good money on another dust collector just because it looks different, and I let you go ahead and let you spend that money without speaking to you about it? 

I guess I'm being pushy if I tell the whole VGC community not to buy a slim 3D0 if that came out tomorrow, even though none of us plays the 3D0, and would buy it purely for aesthetics. Sure, it's the friend's money and he should do what he wants with it, but as a friend, jneul is right in trying to tell him otherwise.

If he buys a slim 360, he'll just have 2 dust collecting paperweights

If she was a decent friend she would show him trailers for all the upcoming 360 games (because you know, there are some coming ..) and then let him make his own mind up, she's essentially trying to sell the PS3 to him, he can make his own mind up, and if it's a mistake then it's his to make.

Let's not pretend this is anything other than what it is, jnuel trying to get another PS3 owner, from the op it doesn't seem like she cares at all about his needs or wants, she just outlines that he hasn't played his 360 in a while (neither have I, yet I plan to buy around 15 games in the next 6 months) and decides to take it upon herself to sell him a PS3 solely based on the fact that she's PRO Sony.

I'm not sorry for telling it how it is.

You'll find I havn't trolled Sony since I started reviewing last JULY. Just becase I converse with Sony fans in a certain way doesn't mean I have anything against Sony themselves

EDIT - Actually I just re-read everything I wrote, absoloutely NOTHING I wrote is Anti Sony, so why the hell do half of you feel the need to shout anti sony at me all the time?

I'm perfectly fine, I don't need lol's or smiley faces to prove I'm "ok", accusing people of being pro and then anti are two different things, bing pro is perfectly fine, and jnuel is Pro Sony, just like I'm Pro Microsoft, calling people anti when they're not though is wrong.

I don't care about how many games and what do what, it's irrelevent, and just like you pointed out, that's your situation, or take rather, he might find Halo Reach amazing, or Kinect even.

The only way you could call me anti sony was if I trolled Sony themselves (not one of their fans) so yeah, I'm still waiting to see that anti sony comment I made?

  • Wide variety of existing and upcoming games such as Uncharted 2, GOW III, Heavy Rain, Infamous, Infamous 2, Ratchet and Clank, The Last Guardian, Killzone 2, Killzone 3, Socom 4, GT5, Demon Souls, Mod Nation Racers, LBP 2.
  • Ps move support with hardcore and casual games, dunno whether he will like that idea as he is used to x360 controller, but he has owned a ps2 in the past, so who knows??
  • Mind blowing capacity as ps3 exclusives are more impressive than x360 games and multiplatinum games, prime example's is Uncharted 2 and GOW III and most recently Killzone 3 and Infamous 2
  • PS2 games being brought back via collections, remastered into HD and trophy support

    • Also I plan to show him lots of trailers of Infamous 2 and Killzone 3, any more suggestions and what is the cheapest bundle in the UK at the moment, I only look in Game and Asda lol.

    Finally do you think it's a good idea to lend him my ps3 so he can see for himself in his own time, maybe this may be the best stratedgy:P:P

    So you're basically trying to enforce your will on your friend?  What a great friend you are!

    So for your points:

    • While the 360 doesn't have BluRay, it has more USB ports, wifi, and a hard drive
    • I thought I saw that the 360 could do 3D, whatever the case, if your friend doesn't have a 3DTV, what does it matter?
    • Point PS3, though Live is hands down better in terms of just about everything.  Only thing the PSN has on it is it's free.  Of course just about everyone that has Live and PSN prefers Live.  I don't know if your friend already has Live.
    • 360 has that...
    • 360 has a wide variety of games too...
    • The 360 doesn't have The Move but it does have Kinect.  Really up to him to decide which he thinks is cooler.  I don't know if price is important to him but even at the highest guess for Kinect, if you want to play with friends Kinect is the cheapest.
    • Yeah, just not true.
    • HD remakes is a cool deal.

    See, you can spin it either way!  The PS3 without has its advantages but don't discount the 360 just because you don't like it.

    If your friend wants a new 360, let him get a new 360.  What does it matter to you?  Don't try to convince him to get something he doesn't want by twisting facts and spouting half truths.

    Every single thing on your list is true for the Xbox 360 EXCEPT for free online and Blu-Ray, and fails to highlight the massive multimedia capabilities of the Xbox 360 above and beyond the PS3 such as Hulu...

    Aggregate gaming rankings in fact hold the Xbox 360 to possess MORE great games than the PS3.

    I'm perfectly fine, I don't need lol's or smiley faces to prove I'm "ok", accusing people of being pro and then anti are two different things, bing pro is perfectly fine, and jnuel is Pro Sony, just like I'm Pro Microsoft, calling people anti when they're not though is wrong.

    I don't care about how many games and what do what, it's irrelevent, and just like you pointed out, that's your situation, or take rather, he might find Halo Reach amazing, or Kinect even.

    You can accuse me of being bias all you like, I can take a realistic non bias approach to anything gaming, if you wanted me to say which is the most powerful system on the market id say PS3, though I'm not sure what bias has to do with any of this. You're completely changing the conversation with each reply because you can't answer my questions.

    We were talking about the anti remark and how you can't prove I'm anti remember? If you're going to reply make sure you reply to that insted of some completely random stuff.
