Eh... in my opinion, Tennis for Two (which came out long before Pong) was far more visually stunning:

Pong just looks sterile in comparison.
Graphically, this is one of my favourite games. Some of the pixel art in this is amazing:
Man I love it. It is stunning. The immense detail conveyed with such limited hardware (and the somewhat artificially imposed limitations of AGI).
In fact, I love it so much that recently, I started a recolouring project for it. So far, I've only finished one of the backgrounds (no views, only the pic data). I hope to eventually have it compatible with ScummVM.

Chrono Trigger was a visual beast for its time. Especially the triple combos....

Interesting side note but if you listened to the developer comentary they said the game could only actually make 9 copies of yourself before the engine started experiencing lag, so they used a trick of colors to make it work after that. |
By default, they actually use the texture trick on the second iteration. You can crank it up to 9 in the graphics options, but you can hardly tell a difference between 2 and 9.

I still love it to this day. |
Battletoads did it first!

Both are amazing games. The difference being well.... Guess which one I've beaten over 20 times?
