Well, the PC gaming industry will need all that it can get. This generation of consoles is on par with the PC in both graphics and gameplay for a fraction of the cost to run the latest, bleeding edge games such as Crysis 2.

As a former PC gamer who cannot game due to my laptop not having the graphics card, I look forward to both StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3  each selling over 10 million and reinvigorating PC gaming.

That is not true. Graphics on the PC are far far ahead of console graphics, and gameply has to be significantly dumbed down to fit on consoles' extremely limited control scheme and demographic.

It's not only the gameplay that is dumbed down. The graphics are also hurt from them running the same engine on the pc and the console. Playing a ps360 port on the pc is like playing a wii game ported from the ps360.

"Every two or three years we hear the announcement of fantasy being dead, PC gaming being dead and RPGs being dead," Erickson told CVG. "And yet, all of the biggest games that ever come out -- that set the records -- are nearly always PC games, and a lot of them are fantasy games."

All the biggest games that ever come out, that set the records, are nearly always PC games? Am I reading this incorrectly or is this dude being interviewed from an alternate reality where Nintendo doesn't exist? I just want to make sure since in that reality I'm a womanizing, drunken Spaniard and I'll need to revert to speaking slurred Spanish.

Could be talking about WoW. With its expansion packs and everything it is probably the most sold game this generation bar Wii Sports , and it also probably has more profit than the top 5 console games combined, inculding any profit form Wii Sports. It is also an RPG in a fantasy setting.

He couldn't have been talking about one game. He worded it especially to point out that most games that fit that criteria were PC games. So what games other than WOW is he talking about? In my reality, most of the biggest games that ever come out are console and handheld games published by Nintendo.
