Forums - Sony - Legend of Mana Set for PSN

Dew Prism/Threads of Fate made it out to PSN this week. So what's next from the Square Enix catalogue?

Producer Shinji Hashimoto got on Twitter earlier today and made the expected announcement (it was expected because he'd said even earlier in the day that he'd be making it soon). The next Game Archives release from Square Enix is Seiken Densetsu Legend of Mana.

Known overseas as just Legend of Mana, this PlayStation classic was originally released in 1999 as the (possibly) fourth game in the Mana series. The game, which saw mixed critical reception, was directed by Final Fantasy XI director Koichi Ishii, and features a soundtrack from Yoko Shimomura.

Hashimoto did not provide a release time frame. But check the news archive below, and you may be able to see a pattern in the timing from announcement to final release for past Hashimoto's PSN teases like Dew Prism and Final Fantasy IX.

US cover is better than japan cover in my opinion :S

Oh I remeber buying this game... I was so exited getting it thinking I would be playing a new Secret of Mana game(SD2)

I was so dissapointed

The only thing I really loved and shocked to hear about this game was that the main theme(intro song) was in my own native language(Swedish) that was a HUGE WTF moment for me

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

The gameplay never got better than in Seiken Densetsu 3, but the writing was really good in Legend of Mana.

I know some of you was disappointed with it but it was my first mana game as I never got hands on with the nes-snes era remember

I did try and play mana 1 on an emulator, did not get far lol
