I’m always very sceptical about the value of celebrity endorsements for many reasons. First off, most celebrities are disliked by far more people who like them, and unless the market demographics of both are (very) well aligned the damage done by the celebrity endorsement may be equal to or greater than the value added; there are a handful of celebrities that are universally loved, but they’re not that common. Secondly, I think most people have an adequate level of cynicism towards these endorsements being that they know that the only reason a celebrity does it is because they were given a dump-truck full of cash. The third reason is that if your endorsement is successful you have (effectively) linked the fate of your product to the popularity of the celebrity, and in many cases the popularity of a celebrity can change in an instant.

Now they will aim at the Twilight fans and they will have every girl covered.

Sony has Ludacris though!

I knew M$ will resort to this strategy....but Sony has an even greater and much better girl magnet to do the Mission Impossible.....

Will the PS3 be the first and most successful multi-million selling piracy & hack-free console of all time?

Sure, the only reason why these kind of "artists" exists is to sell chlotes, phones, gadgets etc.

I remember I saw a videoclip where he was already playing 360... I guess microsoft is one of the companies financing to build up his image.

Smart move actually....

Yes if you want loads of obsessive teenage girls to get Kinect

However if you want the majority of your 40 million install base to get Kinect-ed its probably a very poor marketing move. My guess is most Call of Duty, Gears of War and Halo fans hate him

Then MS is again making a smart move.  They don't want Kinect to sell to the current install base so much as they want to create a LARGER install base by tapping into other markets.  This just shows that they are doing just that.  Expanding the 360 potential market.
