NINTENDO 3DS: The Future of Handhelds

The design we saw at E3 is not guaranteed to be the final finished product - Nintendo can, like it did with the DS can still make cosmetic changes. While I'm still not that 100% happy its only flip-able, its not going to stop me from eagerly wanting this device in my hands now!

These are what I want improved and/added to the device:

1. Nintendo needs to make some noticeable changes to the appearance of the 3DS so consumers (average) will be able       to understand that this is not a DS, and that it's a completely new experience. It also depends how Nintendo markets       this  portable device.

2. Now while I love the 3DS name, something just wants me to add something else to it. Also it would be cool if they              changed the logo then the already familiar form of the 3DS one. 

3.  Why cant both screens be the same size? I dont really like how they made them different. 

4. It looks a little bit too fat, slim size it Nintendo! Don't make me wait 2 or 1 more year for a light one :\

5. Now I haven't heard or read anywhere about rumble feedback. So does the 3DS have this feature? If not then                    Nintendo needs to add it!

Flash on the go?-Anyone? While I read I heard the new Droid phone would have this, so I thought, hey why cant the 3DS?

I think It's about time another portable device be able to let users watch flash online content. Just imagine being able to watch youtube and justin.tv or southparkstudios.com. 

7. Free Online txting and web/voice chats. Skype lets people talk online though cam and since the 3DS comes with one, it makes sense. Also this is something teens would like and thats free texting. Programs like Yahoo messenger allows users to txt people for free. If something like this is implemented it would be a big score to garner the teen girl audience besides Nintendogs.

8. BEFORE THE WHOLE FLASH and ALL. Nintendo can you please make your connection to the internet FASTER!

So I another analog pad was put in place, though I don't understand why there should be two. I've played games with only one and no problemos with it.

probably because of production costs they didn't include bigger screens. Ninty is always very worried about this. They will grow over time, but for now they're fine.

Btw... DS doesn't need a second analog stick... this is for consoles and PSP since the touchpad is just like a mouse, you can use it for aiming. Actually, it's much more precise than dual analog aiming.

Flash support will be the final blow to the ipad and a big F U to apple.

You made 3DS quite ugly =)

I thought I was the only one that found the difference in screen sizes a bit... unpleasant.

About the rest, I'm sure Nintendo doesn't wants to take their already set DS install base by storm with a radically different new brand and image, that's why they are making the 3DS so familiar in those regards.

A bigger touch screen and a second analog are useless. Actually, the second analog makes it look too cluttered and is placed horribly. Flash would be nice, although I don't it would be present. The DS isn't a smartphone. For starters, it probably won't have a fully developed OS like most smartphones do. I'd be happy if they make the browser more suitable for full browsing, and that is about it. Maybe something else that would be nice is the ability to connect to the internet using a mobile phone through bluetooth. Although, I think even that would be a useless feature for the main audience, but I'd like it. Basically the 3DS will probably play games with the addition of media functionality like pictures and video, but nothing too deep. I do see some people doing wonders with homebrew that they weren't able to do with the DS' limitations. I would love to read some PDFs on it for example. 

I have to say... I really like your skype idea. I use it quite frequently and to be able to use it wherever I have wireless internet would be pretty sweet.

I like that both screens are the same size.  I know is not something functional is just aesthetic. More simetrical.  Rumble? I know the DS had an add-on for it a while back but it seems that it was not that big a deal.  Just few games supported it.  Never tried it myself.  Could be cool.
