Forums - Nintendo - 3DS in a Motor Vehicle...

I can't play handhelds moving anyways so I don't know why I would try with the 3DS.  I do get motion sickness rather easy, however.  3D in general does make me kinda disoriented (why I won't see 3D movies in theaters) but I'm never sure how much of that is due to the glasses they make you wear.  I'm sure there is quite a sizable portion attributed to that.  Though I'm sure the 3D without glasses will still cause somewhat of a disorientation given what the 3D effect is doing on your eyes.  However, as stated, no need to always play with 3D due to the slider.

I'll go out on a limb and say that those who really aren't messed up too much in 3D movies or by playing handhelds on a system in a moving craft, probably won't have any problems with 3DS in any scenario.  Those with motion sickness, probably will want to turn the 3D off or just not play it while moving.  Those with issues with 3D probably just won't want to play it under any scenario that might enhance the issue.  Me, I'll just hope that a lot of it was due to the glasses although I'm sure I won't have too many issues with it.  Of course I'll never play it in a moving vehicle haha.

Easy Armads, don't get all up in arms about it....

Now, I think you're over-reacting to his post. Just because he has a long list disproving what you said doesn't mean his tone is in the least bit hostile.

I don't think it'll be a problem, I mean there is a good amount of wiggle room before you get out of the sweet spot. Also why would you buy the console just because it can display 3D? You'll want to play it for the games it has, not because it has a 3D screen, what's the point of the screen without great content?

Remember, technology is only a tool.. It's the content and unique experiences that can be created with the technology that is important.

The console is called 3DS because its main feature is 3D. Discarding it as 'merely a tool' is not reasonable, it would be like going to IMAX and not being able to see any 3D content. The movie might still be  good, but you paid extra and went to IMAX because you wanted to see 3D, so it better be good and work well.

Otherwise, it's just forcing existing NDSL users to buy another console for no reason.

What about some games not even using the Wiimote? I mean, if you bought a Wii, you're paying to use waggle, right?

Yeah... No.

I already get sick if I read or play in a car... plane and train are sufficiently stable though.

Yeah I wasn't hostile, I was just saying you're wrong about that and providing a good example of why.

I have trouble playing while driving. The screens' just too small.

Even though it's an handled I play the current DS more at home, or in the garden and the 3d is just a plus for me that goes after new games, 3rd party suppot, graphical improvement, analog stick....
