I have a small problem, I'm thinking of picking up this game since it finally got the EU release.

One of my friend imported it from the US, while another one is gonna get the EU version. and I was wondering will the game contain a continental region lock? So if I get the EU version can I not invite the friend with the US version to play with me?

and also, is the Black Phantom Edition only version released in EU? I don't need the excess stuff coming with the game. So I'd prefer to pay only for the game.

right now we don't know if EU and US can play together, but I guess it's not likely, for the publishers handle the servers (Eu:Namco Bandai, NA: Atlus, Asia: Sony )

they hinted that there will be a regular edition once the BP edition is sold out, but I think that can take some month

Im getting 2 copies of the limited version. One will be a birthday present for a friend this Saturday. If you dont have the PS3 yet I would recommend getting it now. Its only £34.50 on amazon.co.uk. If you miss it you will only be eble to get the standard version and the bk phantom edition will be 2ce as expensive

I rented a copy of the US version a while back just to haqve a bit of a taste of the game. So I have the game data and a save game already saved on my PS3, so it will be interesting to see what happens when I put the Black Phantom in my PS3 tonight, esp whether I can load up my saved game.

I can confirm what was posted on my wall. US version is not compatible with EMEA (A for Australasia in this case) version. Even though I have a saved game from having rented the US version I don't have the option of loading that saved game using the Black Phantom version.

So looks like separation of version is pretty much absolute.

Let's hope Demon's Souls 2 has a worldwide release (at least outside Japan) and is globally compatible. Its up to us in EMEAA to support it enough for the release shedule and region compatibility to be universal.
