WOW! JUST WOW! I miss a lot of great news when I was out. Still can't get over the FFVersusXIII fever.

WOW! JUST WOW! I miss a lot of great news when I was out. Still can't get over the FFVersusXIII fever.

Shocked, for real.
This opens up a lot to speculate with.
I think Wii will end up not getting any Level 5 game (Not counting DQX since it's not a property of them, if it really comes to the Wii), as Inazuma Eleven Break could be coming to the 3DS, even PS3 now.
KH3 is all of a sudden not so confirmed for the Wii anymore, in fact it will probably not appear on the Wii if we trust Nomura's recent comments on future KH games. The argument that Disney characters fit the Wii audience is torn apart once that the biggest animation Studio in Japan that appeals to the same Disney audience has announce their potentially biggest title ever developed. KH3, if it goes to a home console, I see it more on the PS3 and more so now that FFvsXIII isn't that far away from getting released, with the engine ready. That or 3DS.
The time travelling game is obviously for the 3DS, but could be coming to the PS3 as well if this is anything to go by.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

The console version of Ninokuni started before the DS version even... I wouldn't read too much into this, it's been a PS3 game since early 2008 going by what we know now. Hino just confirmed at least one Wii game too just a couple months back (when he also confirmed a PS3 game, which turns out was this).
I think Inazuma Eleven Break may have turned out to be that arcade game they're doing with Atlus though. Hino did say the project had changed a lot.

Could be increased if the game is marketed well. In EU they just need to slap on "From Makers of Professor Layton" |
i think Miyazakis name would move a equal number of units in Europe
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

For people wondering if this is a DS port, it's actually the other way around... when Ninokuni was first unveiled (at that time for DS and "tba console") at L5's mediavision event in 2008, Hino revealed the game had started as a console title, but Level-5 put that on hold and decided they needed to do a DS version too and get that version up to speed. Kinda surprising to find out it was a PS3 game though, everyone assumed it had been a Wii title due to the spellcasting interface and the handheld version going to DS. Another thing to keep in mind, this is one PS3 that definitely won't go 360 multiplatform, as Hino more or less hates MS after TFLO was canned. I honestly don't think we'll ever see Level-5 make games for an Xbox console... |
Remember that Namco at one stage hated Nintendo's gut and vowed to support Sega all the way due to the refusal of the later to renew their license on favourable terms.
Time and money can change everything.
Nothing is sacred : )

People are getting way ahead of themselves. As awesome as this game looks, there's a HUGE chance it'll never be localized due to the splitting of the localization rights between Level 5 and Disney plus the lack of Ghibli popularity in the west and and the heavy Japanese style to the game.

Level 5 and Studio Ghibli are pretty popular IMO, all Professor Layton's games and all Miyazaki's films are localized. I don't see why they shouldn't localize Ni no Kuni, too.

Naaaah, just look at IE arcade version

And see what Hino himself has said about Inazuma Eleven's CONSOLE version(and also when...March 2010...if it has been said on March 2009,I would have understood the concern, but in this case...)
http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/03/25/smash_bros_and_inazuma_eleven/
"Meeting for the console version of Inazuma Eleven. Different from the DS version's RPG type, this has, maybe, the feeling of sports fighting. Perhaps those who like Smash Bros. will enjoy it."
They're even hinting that it could please the Smash Bros. audience.
And you know where are people who like that brand...and you know even how much they are:2 millions.
Also...

Currently, Level-5's known upcoming console projects are White Knight Story 2 and Inazuma Eleven Break!. Break! is widely believed to be in development for Wii and, depending on how loosely Hino is using the terms "unannounced" could be the Wii title he's alluding to
So,I think that we have only to wait the release of IE3(that seems will be the best entry in the franchise),and they'll announce it for the only console left after Ninokuni on PS3.The Wii.
That's sure.
I've accomplished my mission of bringing logic and sense in these boards;now, let's go to the next mission!
