How much it will sell? 100k on PS3?
Studio Ghibli Level 5= One of the best games ever?

It would be an utter bomb if it sold just 100k. I'd say 500k is more worst case scenario, and realistically I expect much, much more than that.
This is megaton... this became by far my most expected PS3 game and now move is a guaranteed buy for me. But people are over excited about the chance of playing this.
In fact, this, to me, has a lot more chance of being tranlated than the DS version. I kinda lost my hope on that one - and it's my most expected game of them all! They just won't go through all the trouble or translating a huge game for the "old" ds when 3DS arrives. Damn...
Let's hope ps3 version don't suffer the same destiny.

Y'know, I kinda wonder if L5's isn't saving Inazuma Eleven for 3DS now? The fact that their only announced E3 game from their new US subsidiary was a 3DS game is pretty disconcerting, plus DS piracy is seemingly headed off the charts. Of course this would probably mean bad things for their PSP/Wii games too, though I could see those actually getting ported to 3DS directly instead.

Yeah, I guess they are too. But for ninokuni the chances of that happening are minimal... it'll sell much more in japan being released for the regular DS, just like a Pokemon game won't have benefits to go 3DS.
I already accepted I'll be playing this game 5 years from now from a fan translated rom. Hey, at least the voices are going to be japanese!!! (this waiting will suck...)

The only silver lining I can see is the Ghibli association meaning Disney might pick it up themselves. In which case we'd get a fantastic dub at least, and likely release on both PS3 & DS.
I do wonder what going on at Level-5 USA though... I really expected more announcements at least at E3 (Inazmua Eleven, Danboard Senki, Fantasy Life, Ninokuni, etc). Even Time Travelers was a no show, and that's an obvious 3DS game...

Yeah, even in the US Ghibli has a nice cult following, at least as much as something like SMT.

Could be increased if the game is marketed well.
In EU they just need to slap on "From Makers of Professor Layton"

If it can reach 1 million on PS3 then this news is indeed megaton.
