Mass Effect is one of those games that I will remember forever. Much like I'll never forget Ocarina of Time or Super Mario Bros. Not saying that it's better than those games (as they are perfection in gaming form), but it gave me a much stronger set of emotions.

My only gripe was that it was too short. I beat it in about 40 hours, but I'm 60 hours into Dragon Age and barely getting started. I've never beaten a Bioware game other than the Mass Effect games, but I know that they've all been longer than 40 hours.

P.S. I personally liked it more than KotoR, but I dislike the Star Wars universe in general.

lol did we play the same Dragon Age Origins?

Many of us probably blindly like KOTOR in some ways because it was like the ONLY amazing Star Wars game at the time and the lore/universe of star wars is easily to fall in love especially us fans because its so well made by George Lucas.

Oh Darth, are you forgetting Jedi Academy? For shame, that's one of the best Star Wars game ever made

Also, i'm pretty fond of Rogue Squadron and Rebel Assault II, the SNES platformer trilogy games were also pretty good as well.

There has been quite some good Star Wars games, but KOTOR >>>> all

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

Enjoy the game, it's one of the best new IPs this generation. Also, brace for a ton of epic "I'll destroy you!" and "Go! Go! Go!" and "Enemies everywhere!"

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Anyways jumping back into the game for an hour or two.....

Honestly I consider all three games to be on the same level. I have just found that the values are different. Each one will excel in one area, and let down in another area. That said I think people also suffer from the nostalgia paradox. With each new iteration the formula seems less fresh then it did previously. Even though in each later iteration the game offers more of the same.

Strangely enough I personally think KotOR 2 was a far better game then the first KotOR, and both the later Mass Effect titles even though it was an unfinished game. The truth is that in the second game I thought the ability to enlighten or to corrupt the other characters is a concept that just hasn't been revisited. About the most you can seem to do in the Mass Effect series is get someone in your bed. The dialogue just isn't having the consequence. I mean it would have been nice to oh redeem Jack, break Mirandas Confidence, or get Liara to loosen up. Too often it just seems too narrow. So it seems to be getting less rewarding the further they go.

@darth

Despite what others have said you started the game with the right class. Once completed you unlock the bonus weapon options for later playthroughs, and having a good gun is far more important then having a good biotic ability with all the cooldown timer issues that entails. Plus the better gun is just going to be more functional overall. After all a biotic ability may nullify a single target, but the gun will clear out an entire gang. Basically your later characters will be far more versatile thanks to this.

Continued for a few more hours, god I love this game. (It gave me the KOTOR feeling!)

No matter how many looong dialogue tree's you throw at me dragon age, no matter how many choices you offer me Fallout 3 you will never be as good as Mass Effect!!!!!
