Forums - Nintendo - Are these Wii component cables good?

http://www.amazon.com/Wii-HD-Pro-Component-Cable-Nintendo/dp/B000M4KIME/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1276967004&sr=8-2

This cable is only 8 dollars from Amazon and the comments say the product is good as well, but I want to see if you guys in here actually have this cable and want to hear your feedback on it.

If you guys find a cheaper cable that works just as good, can you guys post that as well? I want to find the cheapest one with great quality.

The best component cable is the official Nintendo one.

@ Masternuts

that's true, but sometimes third party make good quality products that are cheaper than Nintendo's. I think Nintendo's component cable is around 30-40$. If I can find something that's 1/5 of the price, works well, and reasonably durable, I rather buy that, then.

I've been using the Gamestop 3-in-1 cable; you can hook it up to (I believe*) any of the current-gen consoles (but only one at a time, otherwise sound gets messed up). Not as cheap, but if you have the other systems and aren't running them component or HDMI already worth the extra if you ask me.

* I believe = haven't tried a PS3, but I know it works on PS2 and pretty sure PS3 has the same component out slot. At least I think when I've looked at PS3 cables they've mentioned PS2 compatible.

Eeehh, I wouldn't recommend getting any 3rd party hardware.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

I usually don't, actually. But I'd just gotten my HDTV back from my ex-wife and didn't have $30 to spare. Actually the $15 for the cable I DID get was a bit of a stretch too.

Nyko usually has very solid Wii accessories, id recommend you look into their "WiiHD" cables. Its about twice as much as the ones youve mentioned, but it gets the job done guarenteed.

Well at that price, It's gonna be a lottery. There are some good 3rd party wires out there that work just as well as the official ones and cost a lot less. Wouldn't get those ones from amazon as they are unbranded so they can send you literally any cables, thats why the reviews on it are so different.

My advice is go to your local game store and ask if they have any. I went to gamestation to buy thier 3rd party ones for £10 but they ran out and only had used 3rd party ones so i got them for £5. They work as well as my mates who's got the official ones. If the casing is thick and generally looks solid then get it. I know that doesn't mean actually anything but its an indication of quality.

In my opinion Twilight Princess is better than Ocarina of t... * gets shot *

@L1inkToTheFuture

I did not know about this! Thanks for telling me that, that was a really helpful advice! I guess I'll go to a gamestore to buy these unless I find a branded one that's cheaper than my local gamestore.

@Eruion: I only have a Wii, but that product would have been nice if I had PS3/360 as well, so thanks for the suggestion!

@Voltaire: Sounds interesting, I'll look it up. Thanks for helping out!

The brand of the cable isn't that important. It's not like they have diamonds in their wires...

Just grab the cheapest one you can find.
