Well, Nintendo did big mistakes (break of partnership with Sony, SquareSoft conflict, Virtual Boy, Game Boy Micro, Wii Music)
Then again, I think I love this gaming company more than any one because they are able to rise up when they fall. They failed to sell tons of console during GC era, and they are still in the gaming course nowadays. They continue to make quality titles, but they also are able to do crap.
I thought it was Sony that was on a pedestal all the time... idolized by their numberous fans.
Nintendo has always been the underdog and most criticized company, but they also build the industry we know nowadays. I'm just grateful at what they did. They saved gaming from the 1983 crash, they revolutionnized platforming, action/adventure genres with Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda, they produced the best game of all time on Gamerankings, which is Galaxy 2 followed by OoT and Super Mario Galaxy.
I see your point. I was angry when reading your post, but I think you weren't that harsh with Nintendo. Nintendo did mistakes (the Wii lineup itself was a mistake), but now they catch up with DKC, Kirby, Zelda: Skyward Sword and the 3DS. They don't deserve that hate at all today. They are working very hard to provide unique experiences and bring new consumers to a market invaded by new upcoming devices that eat marketshare.
The sarcasm was inadequate, unfortunately. Don't try to dampen the excitement of the recent announces, Nintendo did really good job this time, a portable device without glasses and EXPENSIVE costs. Recognize it. Now we'll see if they can exploit it properly.
