Forums - Microsoft - Gamestop offering a good trade in offer for the new 360

Considering the recent price cut the older model 360's have recieved, Gamestop is offering a pretty good deal to trade in for the new 360. Here's the link:

Basically you get $140 for an elite system and if you have the wireless adapter another $40-50 for depending on which one you have.  So for a little over hundred dollars you can double you hard drive space, get a few more usb ports, and have the new 360.  Pretty damn good deal if you ask me.

I would totally go for this, problem is, there seems to be no conveniant way to transfer data from my old HDD to this new one, without ALREADY owning both at the same time (which wouldn't work with the trade in, since you can't have both at once..)

Anyone know of any way I can store/copy my old data from my old HDD, like on my PC or something, so that I can trade all this stuff in and then transfer it to my new HDD later?? Why the hell couuldn't MS just make this crap easier to do...

You could put it on a USB drive 

Other than that you would have to download everything over again if you didn't use a transfer cable but the USB drive should work fine.

Gonna test this out on my USB drive now. I need me that new Xbox..

I don't mind downloading the XBLA games again as long as I can get to them. It's the saved data I'm concerned about, but if all you need is a USB drive, then that's a relief to hear..

Yup but you can only put up to 16gb per a USB so hopefully you don't have too many things to transfer over. Also in order to use the USB your 360 has to format the flash drive so make sure you transfer all your old data off that drive. There should be plenty of tutorials on how to format the USB once you have it in your 360 but from what I understand it should be pretty straight forward so you can probably figure it out on your own.
