Forums - Nintendo - Doubt about Skyward Sword

When I noticed that Twilight Princess would feature a right-handed only Link, I was pissed off, as I thought it would screw my experience. However, in the end, it was just to adjust better to right-handed people so they wouldn't get confused with Wii Remote and Nunchuk. However, I'm really worried about Skyward Sword: with the Wii MtionPlus, the gameplay will be affected considering your playing hand. It makes me wonder: will Nintendo include an option to choose Link's hand in the game or left-handed people will be f***** up with screwed controls suited for right-handed people only?

How do you currently play left handed in games that require the nunchuk? The lefties I know still put the wiimote in right hand.

I'm afraid it's a right-handed world in most parts. Also motion-controlled  games.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Lefties are very vocal today

I'm left and won't bother buying this game unless you can pick a left handed Link.

Most games I have don't use motion control... Most wii games don't even use motion control(IR pointing is not motion control)

It's a little bit tricky at first for fps, but you get used to it. A 1:1 swordfighting game will be more difficult to get used to though...

I feel uncomfortable using it on the right hand. But, in fact, the only game I have which could be a trouble to me is Sonic Unleashed (Werehog left punch = Nunchuk/my right hand; right punch = Wii Remote/my left hand), but as both are the same, there's no problem.

And in Wii Sports Resort, I've only noticed trouble with this left/right option with two games: Wakeboarding (in which I have to take the Wii Remote from one hand to another) and Archery (which makes difficult to aim, at least to me).

I just think it would be a shame if Nintendo didn't think about this option, as Link is originally left-handed as well.

I'm left handed, I've always held the remote in my right hand and the nunchuck in my left...

I'm not sure I understand.

What keeps you from using the remote in your left hand for Skyward Sword?

It would be rather distorting, considering that what, to Link, would be an outward swing will now, to you, have to go across your chest. With higher precision it matters more, i think.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
