well if it was i can imagine Kojima was talking about the bitrate for the sound quality for the game's which is quite feasible

5.1 does not mean ANYTHING for sound quality. It merely says it supports 5 speakers and a subwoofer. When you refer to Dolby Digital, DTS True HD, Uncompressed PCM, NOW you're talking about what kind of sound quality you're gonna get.
