I have the 80gb B/C MGS4 PS3. I bought it 2 yaers ago and still love it. My best buy warranty is, however, about to expire in july. I can easily say my ps3 is overheating or somethign and ill be able to get a PS3 slim. The only reason i might consider doing this is to ensure my PS3 never breaksdown. So is this worth doing?

Honestly though i really don't want too since I do prefer how the PS3 phat looks over the slim but im just a little scared it will breakdown. Are PS3 phats still reliable?

just keep it cool, my never gave me problems.

yeah man, My PS3 Phat Is running like New.

Make sure you have it out in a open Area So its getting Air.

And for me i keep it standing up. the PS3 Slims are actually pretty nice looking IMO.

Then keep your phat.  I have had my 60gb ps3 since 2007 and I have never had any problems with it.  My room mate has the exact same model as yours and he has never had any trouble.  I also like the look of my model over the new ones and I like the fact that it has the ps2 and ps1 hardware built in.

Edit)  There is always a chance that a system can break down nothing is guaranteed.  Even if you got a slim there is a chance that you could get a dud.  If you've had your system for 2 years and haven't had any problems than you probably got a good system and you should be fine.

the phats are but slims more so to my recolection. If you dont like the matt finnish you can purchase a shiny sticker for you slim and it makes it look like the phat PS3's but not so bulky

Just go buy a Slim if your that concerned.
